I like the fact that the Hostal was not only brand new but mainly because the rooms were always very clean. It is called a Hostal, althought it's better then many hotels out there. It was also a very cozy, quite and very well located - right in the heart of Madrid. Magnificent location near Puerta del Sol, metro station at walking distance and at night the zone lights up with life.

The room was very clean...it was in a great location near the metro and lots of restaurants and shopping.The room was close to the center snd was very nice and look likea new hotel. Location, All brand new fittings, friendly staff, great air con.Very personable and extremely well located - close to everything. Great hotel at a great location!. The rooms are very tiny and comfortable (more comfortable than we expected at this price level), the location is very close to Sol, but not noisy in the night as it could be. Location was perfect, one minute walk from Sol. Good breakfast. Verycomfortable rooms.Great location, nice room, very clean. Conveniently located in a relatively quiet street. Everything in central Madrid was only a max of 15 minutes walking distance and a lot was much closer. A lot of really nice bars within 100m. Use the Metro to Sol from the airport and then only about 5 mins walk. Lot cheaper than a taxi @ less than 3 euros per person against 35 to 40 for a taxi.Very close to the Sol, you can visit every main tourist site by walk. Very nice staff. Newly renovated rooms. Breakfast is very good and rich. The girl working in the reception was very nice and serviceminded. The room was very nice, no disturbing traffic in our room.Very easy to get to all the sights. Right in the middle of therestaurants and bars. The hotel is on a very nice place near the historical centre of the town.in the middle of everything. The location was excellent. The Bathroom was nice with a powerful shower that was perfect after a long day of traveling. The staff were very nice too. Very central for sight seeing, the underground railway, shopping and restaurants. Was very clean and well maintained. The location is good, very near the center, Sol. Prior guests were correct about the noise...but I knew that. Next time I will bring earplugs...but the location was worth it.I had a very nice room on the fourth floor, but at the beginning I wasoffered a room overlooking a patio that was a bit dark andclaustrophobic. I would not have liked to stay in that room. Hotel stuff should speak some other language beside Spanish.the room was a bit small but in the end it didn't matter so much taking into consideration the rest of the assets of this hostal. It was a bit noisy with the sounds from people outside, whole night long, even on the fourth floor, because its in the middle of madrid with restaurants and bars in the same street. So its not a very good place for light sleepers like my girlfriend.Not all the receptionists speak English. The very strong smelling perfume in each room and bathroom. I had to have my window opened all night in order to get rid of it. My co travellers had a room towards the street which was very noisy during night.Small room. Some noise from street and hall ways. Could have been worseand I believe its noisey every where in the city center. It´s guite noisy at night.There is no parking, but we already n=know about it and the nearest parking place is expensive (for 21 hours we paid ~ 23 euros and this due to a 10 discount taken from the hotel - 26 euros was the normal price!!!). The walls let through the smallest noise from in- and outside the hotel. If you are a light sleeper or plan a romantic getaway, find another hotel. If you aim to party all night long this is the place to stay.Room is small. Extremely tiny shower box.Something stank in the bathroom in room 401. Smelled like something mildewed. I just wish that the one and only staff that we saw could speak a little English at least.Like most people said, the rooms are the smallest I've ever seen in a hotel. But again, we didn't spend much time on the hotel :). the view and and the smell out of the window. room was a little small. Personnel at the desk were present at the check in counter at irregular times.Room a little bit cramped, but manageable. A tea making facility would be a great improvement, but space may preclude putting it somewhere! Whilst the Receptionists were most polite and co-operative, it is certainly a handicap that they cannot speak English - though we had fun communicating and managed to get through one way or another. The staff can barely speak any English. It is really difficult to communicate with them.
