We liked the authenticity of the Castle. The staff made us feel special. They were well educated on the food, wine, history of the area. Also very accommodating when it came to luggage needs. Very well equipped and comfortable cottages - spotlessly clean and everything seemed almost brand new. Close proximity to the Nurburgring a bonus but far enough away to be very peaceful with lovely views over rolling countryside. Excellent Spa included in the price. Excellent location opposite the K-D ferry quay and it is definitely worth paying extra for a room with a river view balcony. Good choice at breakfast. - The staff; they were able to direct us to parking and had a place we could store our bikes. Also the hotel is in the middle of everything in Cochem.
