  The atmosphere was formal yet relaxed, the staff were professional and prompt. The room was perfect, very clean and comfortable! - Only slept, showered and left so difficult to comment, however one ofthe cups in our bedroom was dirty, left from previous occupantpresumably.

  Bed was comfortable and we had a quiet area to stay in. Very nice modern pool with hot tub and sauna & steam room and family changing rooms. Modern hotel throughout.   The booking got messed up, booked a superious suite, got given a twin,changed to a exec double at a reduced rate, promised free wine thatdidn't arrive and got a massive discount because of all the problems butStaff were very good at resolving these problems with no fuss so stillmade it a very enjoyable stay - whilst being a large hotel it retained ... vad folk säger » its intimacy, reception staff and restaurant staff very good and the food was excellent.   The meal we had was fantastic! The meatiest, largest lamb shank with delicious gravy, creamy mashed potatoes, carrots and peas. Apple & rhubarb crumble with lashings of custard. MMMMMMMM! The hotel was directly across from the cruise liner we were visiting. We were able to make a free phone call for a taxi to the Art Gallery. Good location, close to the West Quay, Train Station and a Cinema is within 5 minutes walk. Guildhall is 10 -15 minutes walk away. Also have a MacDonalds and tfi Friday's close by. Rooms are basic, clean and ideal for a night or two can't fault.

  Wow! Our stay at The Clarence was absolutely wonderful! We were greeted by Vicky who was very welcoming. Our evening meal was amazing! Simon, the chef, was of Masterchef Standard!   The location of the hotel was perfect. Just off the motorway, but set in lovely wooded gardens so therefore not much noise. In fact, no noise, with window closed! Breakfast was great, plenty of choice and something for everyone.   At the Meon the staf really shone, Holly who was our waitress in the evening was excellent, we felt very special, Tania was equally fantastic who looked after us at breakfast. The reception staff were also helpful and found us dressing gowns without question, well done great service all round. Food was excellent as was the service everywhere.   The bedrooms with en-suite were at an exceptionally high standard. Fabulously decorated, very comfortable extra large bed, lovely bedlinen and pillows (usually always a problem). Extra touches of fruit in the room - all just lovely. The en-suit was wonderful; bright, clean, expensively fitted out, large with lovely towels and toiletries.   Helpful, welcoming service. The room was lovely. Clean, good layout, nicely and thoughtfully designed. Quality amenities, from hair dryer to hot drink selection, this hotel is really quite lux, but not over the top! The restaurant was also lovely, good food, friendly service. I knew when I booked that rooms overlooked Red Funnel ferry dock on busy road. All -night heavy traffic and lights did not bother us at all- a light sleeper who didn't know, might suffer.   I cannot fault my stay at Flowerdews Bed & Breakfast. The owners could not have been more accomodating, friendly nor welcoming. The accomodation and facilities were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. What had the potential to be a stressful business trip to Winchester was transformed into a pleasant visit due to my brief stay at Flowerde... vad folk säger » ws. I would not stay anywhere else should I ever need to return to Winchester in the future and highly recommend Flowerdews B & B. - Liz was very welcoming, friendly and helped us with directions to where we were going on two occasions. Room was well appointed and Flowerdews is in walking distance of Winchester where we were meeting friends. Breakfast was excellent and other guests were obviously cheerful and happy in their surroundings. A great stay - would repeat this and stay a little longer!
