  We were given a great welcome by a delightful Spanish employee and as we were keen to see the Tour of Britain cycle race stage finish in Gateshead he allocated us a room with a view - we were very grateful.The dining room staff at breakfast set a high standard of service.   The location of the hotel was convenient to where I had to be the next day for a conference. I loved the site - by the river with wonderful views (especially at night), The hotel building was lovely - very attractive/welcoming exterior, wonderful interior design - very different and homely at the same time. All staff I met were polite, helpful a... vad folk säger » nd seemed focussed on making the whole stay experience one to remember. My room on the 7th floor was wonderful - beautifully and thoughtfully furnishe - Every hotel has it's own personality but share a common set of standards and values... all very high. I like the wine list... Manchester had a special wine list which I would have liked to see in Newcastle. Young but not 'trendy'. The staff seem happy to be there!
