  All our stay was perfect. The bedroom was just like the one in the pictures. Very clean and comfy. Great double bed. Perfect with tea/coffee/chocolate facilities in the room. Double glass window. Dark and thick curtain to get the room dark at night. We had view over York Place (and the road works) but it was not a problem as they did not work at n... vad folk säger » ight, so it was pleasant to sleep. The road workers arrived around 7.30 in the morning but we were already preparing us for breakfast (monday to frida - The Elder York Guest House is a lovely place to stay in Edinburgh! The location is excellent, walking distance to all attractions. There are road works going on, but these won't interrupt your stay and should be over soon. We were greeted on arrival in a friendly way and shown our very clean and spacious room, with bathroom ensuite. Our host offered an excellent recommendation for a pub for dinner.   Mycket trevlig personal! Vi hade med ett litet barn, och man var mycket tillmötesgående och hjälpsam för att göra det så bra som möjligt för oss/barnet. Fin service, väldigt trevligt rum (vi fick ett på källarplan för att få extra plats för barnsängen). - Centralt beläget med busstation runt hörnet.10- 15 minuters promenad till centrum.   This place has a very relaxed laid back approach and if you need any help everyone is friendly and informative enough. The location itself is very central and the bus from the airport shuttle bus drops you right behind their street. So, for those of you looking for the typical cozy B&B experience where you see the owners in aprons cooking up yo - This is a B&B we will return to. At a perfect spot in “Edinburgh new town”, in the middle of shopping and restaurant areas. The building originally from early 19th century is well preserved and nicely taken to the 21st. The top floor stairs is old and torn but so full of charms. Nice rooms in harmony with building, furniture and facilities. Run by friendly owners and an adorable old cat watching the lounge. Good WI-FI. Breakfast is served at neighbouring Rick’s Hotel, really good.

  The owners are totally committed to providing a quality experience to their guests. It seems a range of languages are spoken and there were many Continental European guests though all are welcome. The location is excellent with very regular buses taking you to the city centre and sights. Good breakfast with self serving coffe/tea, juice, cereal and yogurt. I had scrable eggs on toast, but you can get a full Scottish breakfast. Staff very friendly. I'd like to stay longer to interact with them. Definitely I'll came again.

  thought it was well worth the money and would definately use again - clean, nice friendly lady (only saw this one member of staff) but she was v helpful. room very clean and bed was comfortably but its a bit dated. The ensuite was tiny, The breakfast was very basic and cheap food, e.g wrapped cheese slices, white bread, cheap yoghurts,,,nice coffee... vad folk säger » though.
