  Me and my husband came to Hacketts York House on Valentines day 2014. What a lovely, enjoyable time we had, so glad we booked here. The staff are so friendly, chatty and helpful. On arrival we were first greeted by 2 friendly members of staff in a bright, airy reception area.   we liked the fact we were away from the main centre of town so no disturbed nights sleep and the tram stop was just at the end of the road so we didn't need to use our car for the weekend.   Simon and Rhona made us very welcome. A great couple making a real effort with the Guilderoy - our stay was excellent . A very nicely decorated place, located in a quiet area but convenient for the centre. Excellent food (I need to diet now!). Their web site is very honest, and states what they offer - do take a look.   Alan and Sylvia were wonderful from the moment we arrived to when we left. Reserved us a parking space, the room was ready with no hassle, they even let us borrow an umbrella because the weather was so bad! The breakfast was fantastic too.   It was turkey and tinsel week (we were unaware when we booked). Comfort was excellent, food was brilliant, table served and a different menu every day with a choice of 5 starters, main courses and deserts. Entertainment in the evening was great and got everyone involved.
