Location was great - just around the corner from Opera Metro station. Very, very clean and beds comfortable. We had a room at the back to no traffic noise at all. Great location near Gran Via metro station on the nice shopping street. Elevator to 4th floor. Rooms have windows for inner court, so it's quiet to sleep. You will have own keys for the building and for your room, so it's safe. The single room with shower is really nice and cosy, with air condition, sink, good mirrow, a kettle to boil water for tea etc. Also the bed was comfortable. It was my second time I stayed here and I was perfectly happy with everything.

First of all, we have to say that the staff was unbelievable!! All of them were extremely friendly and extremely helpful as we had lots of questions and requests.

Hotel staff spoke very good English, and they were very pleasant. It
was very quiet inside all the hallways and doors, so I knew I would be
able to sleep well. Safe. We had a key to get into the building later
in the evening. The evening staff worked very hard to print out a
ticket for us. He was very kind to do so. Polite, honest, hard working.
The mini frig was a wonderful item, as was the hairdryer. I would
gladly recommend the Hostal, especially if you want to be in the center
of Madrid.

our studio (room 5F) was on the 5th floor at the back of the hotel.
room was ideal plenty of room, bed comfortable, good storage space. kitchen area ideal, bathroom clean and tidy.
i would definitely use the hotel again and would recommend it to friends and family.

We spent just one night at the Hostal Macarena, when passing Madrid on our way back from holiday. It's a lovely place in the heart of Madrid (Plaza Mayor is just behind the corner!), surrounded by many bars, restaurants and little stores. The room is quite small, but well equipped and clean. Staff doesn't speak very good English, but is very nice.

Location, location, location! Two steps from the plaza Mayor and many other attractions, located on a little street with animation. Staff is courteous and helpful. They kept our luggage all day so we could walk around freely untill we left to take the train. Room was clean, confortable and big enough. Very good quality for the price. I recommend this hotel wihtout any hesitation.
