Madrid Hotell

We booked this hotel for a very cheap rate basically because of the good location. After reading the reviews before I stayed here I thought my stay in Madrid would be a night mare, but it was anything but that. The room was very spacious and very clean. There was a very small smell initially when I walked in but that went away as soon as I opened the window. We had a great view of the gran via from the 5th floor which was really cool. Westin Palace Madrid, is very conveniently located just in front of El Prado and other museus in Madrid, very close to the Parco del buen Retiro, and in walking distance from Plaza del Sol. Rooms and service are just what you could expect from a Westin hotel. But just because of that when you are in the hotel, you just do not realize you're in Spain. If you are a traveler that wants to experience the taste of the country he's visiting in the hotel he is staying in, you sholdn't choose the Westin - Fiona

This four star hotel is in a great location- quiet street but access to subway lines one block away. Huge room, great A/C and fine bathroom. We did not eat at the hotel for we thought the prices were a bit high. There is internet access but we were unaware we could purchase and use the time over the three day period versus using the time in one sitting. Got a great deal via travelzoo for weekend accomodation including breakfast and free minibar(no alcohol only soft drinks) The hotel is situated approx 10 minutes from the centre -(metro) of madrid or 1/2 hr walk in a quiet area, there are some resturants but have to go into the centre for more choice. It is very near the metro and madrids football stadium and business district The buffet breakfast that was included was very good.and the service from the staff excellent. A very clean and modern hotel. A good sized bathroom too. Both the reception staff and cleaners were very polite and attentive which made our two night stay all the better. Rooms are average in size. A very kind gesture was the complementary mini bottles of cava and chocolates on arrival ( we had informed them prior to arrival that we were celebrating my wife's 40th). My husband and I stayed three nights at Hesperia Hermosilla at the end of July. We booked a Superior room at a great rate via the hotel website. When we arrived, we were given room #508. It was the top floor and had slanted walls, dark, and a very small window. We were quite disappointed. I asked the front desk if they had any other superior rooms available for our stay. The staff member was gracious about our request and switched us to room #208. Beautiful!! Large airy bright room - Gregory

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The staff were helpful and pleasant. The check in and check out were easy. The hotel is nicely decorated and the rooms were of a good size. The maid service was excellent. The breakfast had a large selection of cold foods including hams, cheeses, rolls, yoghurts, etc. There was also hot food including bacon and sausages. The metro is right outside the hotel and makes the city easy to explore at just 1 euro per jouney. The location is very central and only 5 - William

Fully worth its four star rating. Beautifully decorated, impeccably clean, friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on. Our room faced the street but noise was not a problem due to two double paned windows--yes, four panes of glass keep the outside world away. I stayed at The Muralto in June 2009. The suite had a small kitchen and a notice saying that anything we needed could be had from reception, although past experience means I tavel with a camp kettl.e, The room was serviced with clean towels every day even though this was not necessary. The staff were friendly and most spoke English if even a little. Soundproving in any apartment block can be a problem and noisy guests would be bothersome but we had no trouble. Stayed three days in July, 2009. Hotel was very close to nearest subway stop, just off a busy commercial area, close to many restaurants and stores. The reception staff all spoke English. Room and bed were very large, well equipped with a laptop in every room, great AC when the temperature was in the 90's outside. I stayed at Novotel during peak season but wasn't many Business travellers as it's August. Kids stay for free so of course many spanish familes take advantage of this. The service was good and of course i know often depends on who serves you on front desk and bar. I want to add that the Hotel offers a FREE 20 minute internet usage which i think is good and you can you this as many times as you like. I think this is better than nothing and a quick fix as many have complained about the usage i - Norma

Stayed 3 nights at the Tryp washington in Madrid. Loacated on the Grand Via steps from Plaza de Espana Metro. Easily reached from the airportm changing trains once. Staff friendly and very helpful. Breafast was good. A good variety of breads, cereals, fruits, egg, bacon etc. Rooms are clean and spaceous with hairdyer. I had read that the airconditoner did not work but our did. you have to ensure your windows are clsoed properly or the A/C will not come on. - Douglas
