  The location (the closest hotel to the Cathedral that wasn't the 5*parador), the cleanliness (room was immaculate), the comfort (double bed! wooden floors, modern furniture). You have your own balcony facing a palace.   We had no problems parking-and ended up seeing the hotel as soon as we emerged from the garage-perfect! It's right next to the police station, so very quiet and safe (not that other parts of the city aren't). It was a very short walk to the cathedral and the city was fantastic to wander through. The heat was on, there was a hair dryer for me to use, they even had an electric kettle and tea sitting in our room - It was excellent in all ways * it was clean, nicely designed , bright, warm, open and friendly , just around the corner from the cathedral, but with ready access to taxis too. the staff , Diego and the young woman (whose name I didn't get) were exceptionally friendly and helpful ~~ in short a delightful place !! I d stay there again ~~)

  Extra long bathtub (I'm tall), excellent sheets and pillows, towel warmer (great for drying damp clothes), and location (close enough to walk to the cathedral and the lively street next to the Pilgrim Office) in the central old part). Bird on ledge next to bathroom was a great touch! Bathroom has a warm, aesthetic feel. Overlooks main entry way for pilgrims on Camino de Santiago. Decent breakfast offered. Friendly staff--speak Spanish and French, some English.

  Checking in was admirably attentive. They welcome you with breakfast and the warmest smile I've ever seen from a host. So incredibly polite and obliging. Getting the keys of my room was like getting the keys of the city. Wonderful experience. Location perfect. Bus and trains are very close for those with early return travel or connections.   Delightful converted monastery. While the rooms were basic the building and its gardens were fabulous - we had our picnic lunch in the cloister gardens. Extremely quiet and a quiet location on the university's old campus. Good continental breakfast. Lots of free parking.
