  Although we weren't sure what to expect booking this hotel as it was new and didn't really have reviews, we were pleasantly surprised. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The owners picked us up from the station, showed us around Karuizawa by car, and even gave me a scarf because I looked cold! They were kind enough to provide my compani... vad folk säger » on and me maps, bus schedules etc. The facilities were new, so naturally they were clean and lovely (there was a nice view of the garden). The room wa - First of all, the owner family is very friendly and helpful. They gave as a lot of recommendations what to do and explore in the area. The house is brand new and located nicely in the forest of Naka Karuizawa. It's a good starting point for bike riding in the area, even there's a little hill to climb when coming form the station. The twin room we stayed had typical size for Japanese hotel and was fully equipped. And there is a small patio in front of the rooms to enjoy the nature and quietness

  Chris and Noriko, the hosts, are very friendly and welcoming. Chris has helped a lot in car rental before we arrived in Karuizawa. That has made our planning a lot easier. Upon check-in, he also brought us to a local ramen shop for lunch and gave us useful sightseeing tips for the next couple of days. Hotel guests and local friends o - Chris and Noriko are fantastic and helpful hosts! In the car when Chris picked us up from bus stop, we knew we will have a wonderful time in Karuizawa! If you love gourmet food, Chris and Noriko are fabulous chefs (homemade sausage and bacon! yummy!); if you love wine testing, Chris has great wine collections; if you want to ride bicycle to explore Karuizawa, they know which route you can take with nice view; if you love shopping, they know when the outlet is on sale!
