The very best place we stayed in this Province ! We absolutely loved our stay at Ai Torretta. We were traveling with my parents on a special trip and Mario and Valentina couldn't have made us feel more welcome and comfortable. The property is charming with by far the best and most magical view of Matera. The breakfast was home made by Mario's wife from some of the freshest sources in Matera and every delicious and subtle detail was appreciated. Valentina spent the entire afternoon with us -
We travelled 3 weeks through the Basilicata and liked every moment of it. But Matera and the Torretta ai Sassi B&B were the absolute highlights of our trip. We loved everything about this place. The apartment itself was spacious and clean; the balcony, looking out over the sassi and the Duomo, was fabulous and perfect for an afternoon aperitivo. The cafe/bar downstairs was great and run by a friendly woman. Best of all were Aldo and Rosa... the best hosts ever!
