Although it is not on a canal, it's only 20 seconds walk to Grand Canal, 30 min leisuer walk to St. Marco's Squre, and 10 min walk to St. Lucia Train Station which is very convenient to us as we were travelling by train.   One of the reasons that made me book the Antiche Figure Hotel in Venice was its proximity to Santa Lucia station, as I would be arriving in the night train from Paris. But I just realized how close it really is when I left the station and saw its nice building on the other side of Grand Canal, which could be easily reached by Ponte Degli Scalzi. We called up to the hotel and they asked whether we wanted to cancel our booking. They also said that despite flood the hotel had no problems and they were looking forward to their guests to arrive.
