  The room was very clean and had air conditioning, hotel has a pool. Themanager and his daughter were very friendly and hospitable, and theygave good travel advice for other places in Crete to visit. They alsoown the attached restaurant, which was good and inexpensive. The hotelis in a beach town outside of Heraklio, and the taxi from the port was~2... vad folk säger » 0 Euros.   helios studios is fantastic place.very clean, nice cretan furnitures.the highlight and worth mentioning is mrs despoina's hospitality. we were warmly greeted by mrs despoina upon our arrival at the apartments. she was unbelievable friendly and approachable,willing to give even a hand with suitcases. she had left for us fresh cake on the table alo... vad folk säger » ng with chocolates and cretan alcohol beverage 'raci'. when leaving the apartments,she gave us again fresh warm cake to have it on our way back to her - We have never felt more welcome than in Helios. The owner, Despina, is incredibly sweet! In the clean, big apartement we found oranges, cookies and raki as a welcome gift. We parted as friends. Despina, thank you so much! PS Makry Gialos is perfect for families with younger children. The sea is calm and shallow. From Helios it's about 10 minutes walking (downhill) to the center of the village.

  We had a quiet room and access to a very good pool. Simple furnishings and clean. Excellent stop-over for Phaestos and Agia Triada; however we would not have chosen to stay here for a long time as the town itself was busy and the beach tiny. However, it was worth a visit to see the famous caves

  My partner and I stayed at Kanakis for 9 nights and had a lovely stay, we really felt at home. The room had comfortable beds, was spacious and well equipped. Nearby there was a very good bakery and plenty of supermarkets and restaurants. Giannis and Anna were very sweet and friendly, their generosity really struck us.
