In spite of arriving very late at night and having to leave early on the day I left, I was still treated with great courtesy and pleasantness and nothing was too much trouble. - friendly service, made to feel welcome, comfortable and freshly decorated room, double bed and spacious room for solo traveller.

I cannot praise the Fernbank enough. The owner could not have been more helpful or hospitable. The hotel is beautifully decorated cared for. The public areas were very relaxing to sit in. The room I stayed in was spotless and very comfortable.

The staff were excellent and made you feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble for them. The Hotel was furnished well and very comfortable, lovely gardens to relax in if the weather was good and a very nice heated indoor pool. Breakfast was excellent with a big choice and plenty of it. The Fernbank delivers a high quality of service and comfort and we would certainly go back.

Probably the best B&B I have stayed in within the UK (and I have been to a lot). Very friendly owners and lovely clean room! We stayed in the Captain's Room which was nicely decorated with very large bathroom. The room had an ironing board, hair dryer, coffee and tea maker, and pretty much any toiletries one could need. Everything was wonderful, but I will start with Julie who ""makes it all happen." Her helpfulness knows no bounds, and her smiles and greetings make you feel special. absolutely worthy, the owner of the place is lovely, i really felt at home at oaklands... if you're planning to go to the island, this is the place to stay, best quality for money - nothing was too much trouble for the proprietors - they even ordered good weather for our stay!!! The small fridge in our room was an excellent idea.

it was very clean in our rooms also a lovely sea view that we asked for towels changed everyday breakfast was well organised and very polite staff come round tables to ask you if you wanted tea or coffee and toast then you helped yourself to hot breakfast or you could order omelettes or kippers when you go in all in all this is a very good hotel

My wife and I chose this hotel for a 4 nights stay based on excellent reviews, location and value for money ( discounted room price offer). We were not disappointed. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was lovely and views across the bay were great. Shanklin village is a short easy walk away, as is the beach and seafront.
