In spite of arriving very late at night and having to leave early on the day I left, I was still treated with great courtesy and pleasantness and nothing was too much trouble. - friendly service, made to feel welcome, comfortable and freshly decorated room, double bed and spacious room for solo traveller.

Probably the best B&B I have stayed in within the UK (and I have been to a lot). Very friendly owners and lovely clean room! We stayed in the Captain's Room which was nicely decorated with very large bathroom. The room had an ironing board, hair dryer, coffee and tea maker, and pretty much any toiletries one could need. The staff were excellent and made you feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble for them. The Hotel was furnished well and very comfortable, lovely gardens to relax in if the weather was good and a very nice heated indoor pool. Breakfast was excellent with a big choice and plenty of it. The Fernbank delivers a high quality of service and comfort and we would certainly go back.

absolutely worthy, the owner of the place is lovely, i really felt at home at oaklands... if you're planning to go to the island, this is the place to stay, best quality for money - nothing was too much trouble for the proprietors - they even ordered good weather for our stay!!! My wife and I chose this hotel for a 4 nights stay based on excellent reviews, location and value for money ( discounted room price offer). We were not disappointed. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was lovely and views across the bay were great. Shanklin village is a short easy walk away, as is the beach and seafront.
