This was a great 'experience' hotel - we stayed because of the heritage associated with it. An old colonial hotel which is a little crumbly around the edges but not too much and has lots of period features like an old fashioned cage lift etc. Nice garden area, and bar and a veyr swanky reception area with wifi. Excellent location, just outside Temple of tooth and facing lake which makes your stay in that location best, hotel is located in centre of the Kandy from where everything is reachable within minutes. Hotel facility and food was nice, staff is humble and friendly.Hotel gives feeling of heritage place and interior is so much from British Era which makes this hotel look like a palace, wooden flooring and antique interior is nice.

We spent 2 nights at Hotel Suisse, really enjoyed it and were sad to leave. The hotel has so much character and a happy and relaxed atmosphere. We got in before check in time but it was no bother for the front staff. They very quickly had our room ready giving us to use the free wifi in the lobby, we were treated to an ice cold drink. Jehan went out of his way and this was reflected in the other staff members including the dining room staff. We wanted a room overlooking the pool and got it despite being busy with the esala festivities. The room was large, clean and the toilet was great.

It has a very great view of the lake and temple. Sometimes the monkeys will come to check on you outside of your window. It is not far from city center- good location with good view and comfortable bed.The owner of the hotel is very warm and take good care of their guests. -

I find it difficult to reconcile the few negative reviews with the
experience we had. If there is a friendlier, more helpful host in all of
Sri Lanka then I look forward to meeting them. Nothing was too much
trouble. This guesthouse is in a great location (just a 15min pleasant
walk along the lake to the Temple of the Tooth), and in a quiet area.

A wonderful place to stay during your visit to Kandy and the surrounding area. The property is located within a 5 minute walk to the lake and about 10 -15 minute walk to the Temple of the Tooth Relic which is one of the main attractions in Kandy.
The owner (Shanani) and her team are charming and offer excellent customer service to all the guests.
The food - both breakfast and the evening meal are truly authentic Sri Lankan and I would recommend any guest to book the half board offer. I c
