  The owner, Roselyn, was friendly, gracious and courageous as we communicated with very limited knowledge of each other's language. Fortunately, her English was much better than our French! The rooms were very comfortable, each with a dedicated bathroom with a great shower and even a spa in one of them! The whole experience was a nice surprise - The amazing owner. If you want to have a great, intimate experience and truly get to know a really nice lady, then choose this tucked away charmer of a B&B. We arrived tired after a very long drive. We had stopped at a store and had picnic provisions to enjoy in the garden. The lady of the house not only supplied ice to chill our wine, but she brought out plates and cutlery for our picnic. We lounged on the back terrace in the most comfortable chairs for three hours, so nice after two weeks

The house is charming, warm, comfortable and elegant with a relaxed feel to it thanks to Claude Herbert's hospitality. As a family with two young girls (aged 3 and 5) this can sometimes be an annoyance to other guests and the host but we never felt like this. Breakfast is full of homemade treats - and good coffee! This is essentially a family home/estate which has been lovingly restored. The area and the town of Azay-le-Rideau are very beautiful, and convenient for visting wine producers too.
