Robert the duty manager and the staff were friendly and gave great service with a smile. The location suited me perfectly as I walked out of the dining room across the road and 100 meters later was on the Mona ferry. I had a harbour facing room and it was clean, warm and comfortable. I had a fabulous special $30 meal. Scallops, chowder and white wine were involved. Because it is a refit of differently aged buildings there is a charming "Fawltyness" to the interior. Short stairways, creaky floor.
wszystkie opinie » Staff were brilliant. We arrived on an unusually very hot day (and our room was unfortunately on the north west corner). Even with the fan going, we were unable to sleep due to this unfortunate combination of circumstances. In the morning with all other rooms booked, we decided to curtail our pre-booked stay - staff were extremely professional, even offering to cloak our luggage until we were able to make other arrangements. Location is brilliant! Breakfast was excellent all the moreso consider. Great location on the waterfront, easy walk to Salamanca Place. The room and bathroom were warm, spacious & clean, and although sparsely furnished, comfortable (as was the queen-sized bed). The great harbour view was complemented by the rough-hewn sandstone wall on one side of the room. Dinner and breakfast in the restaurant below was to a high standard. Location is excellent, down opposite the dock. Ferries to mona and Peppermint Bay leave directly across the street. Lovely water views from front rooms. Breakfast very good and is served in the restaurant looking out over the docks and water. The historic character of Customshouse Hotel and surrounds - the dining experience was outstanding. The position great- close to ferry for MONA museum, airport transport and points of interest in city- very friendly, attentive staff. Our room was comfortable and clean, the staff friendly and helpful and we enjoyed the hot breakfasts! We had heard noise was a problem - not for us as there was just one singer, he was good and he finished at 11pm!. The included breakfast was beautiful. We also enjoyed a meal in the pub. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and bright. The pub had a great atmosphere and was in a fantastic location. Nice old buidling close to the centre of Hobart and beside the Salamance area where the weekly market is held. There was a good selection of meals for breakfast. The bar was a nice place to have drink. We were treated very well by the staff. A special mention 2 Trent and our beautiful lass on reception they both stood out.... Have already recommended your hotel to friends comming down in march.. Noise from the restaurant and kitchen area immediately beneath our room (#8 on the 1st floor) came up through the floor until 11pm on the two mid-week nights we stayed, but noise from outside was muffled by the double glazed windows. The shower water-flow was barely adequate. It can be noisy, but it is a pub so that is a given. Absolutely nothing to dislike. We would have liked a plate or two and a knife in the room but I'm now thinking we could have asked downstairs and we would have been given what we needed. The only bad thing is the amount of noise on Friday and especially Saturday night. Although, the noise came from the street. The windows had an extra glazing over them, so I thought that the hotel couldn't do anymore to keep the noise out. It is just the price you pay for a great position. I really don't have any complaints .would recommend . accomodation basic but fine. Car parking was an issue . letsbookhotel.com stated parking was available at a nearby place for $6 per day, but this option not available on weekends, which meant car had to be continually moved. Website needs to be amended. Very noisy very late on Friday and Saturday. the bathroom the dull lighting in the room. Can't think of a thing !. The noise from the nightclub across the road although I know this is out of Customs House Hotel's control. Bar was loud in evenings for room 7. Could hear everything going on. Everything was great. Nothing to note here. Nothing - all was great. Getting our luggage to the 3rd floor. Young receptionist/ concierge on duty the day we arrived very vague and unhelpful. Credited our account instead of someone elses then had to debit us didn't give us a copy...very unprofessional. Lamp didn't work so reported this no follow up same staff person. The rest of the staff were great. Loud music at night but not necessarily from Customs House as there was another pub very near by. Friday and Saturday night was still quite noisy past midnight and again as early morning street cleaning was carried out. Much much better on Sunday night. Parking is problematic on weekends as the hotel only has a weekday parking arrangement. Would recommend for week day stays. aluminium/glass fire doors on staircase. Room somewhat dated, bathroom needed upgrading. Music very loud until 0400 hours. The stairs where there was no handrail. Would have liked two chairs (one chair in a room booked or two people is not sufficient). Nothing. Bit noisy outside, a nightclub next door on the Saturday night, and revelers in the street on week nights. Nil. Unfortunately our stay coincided with a beer fest and that area seemed to attract the late night drunks outside which kept us awake. The contraption to hang your clothes on that sticks out above where you place your suitcase - there isn't enough drop to hang clothes on as the shelf below houses your suitcase. Not to mention the danger of the clothes hanging bar when getting clothes out of my suitcase. Quite a few (painful) bums on my head. A narrow wardrobe in the same space would be better and not take up too much room. nothing. nothing. No guest parking Noisy. no parking dedicated to the hotel. Not enough room to hang clothes. No Parking , and a bit noisy as the accommodation was in a hotel that has a bar with live music. A little noisy at night and no view from window. Did not know that there were as many stairs to get to rooms. Staff did change room to accomodate older mother. Parking difficult on Saturday when markets are on. Road noise , people noise on Saturday night. bed a little hard for us.
