  Barstow was a good stop for us as we were travelling from Las Vegas to San Francisco, it was the first stop on our journey as we didn't want to drive too far on the first day. Good shopping at the outlets, don't miss the Vans store in the old outlets and the Idle Spur steakhouse on the old Route 66 is a must.........hard to find though so get dir... hva folk sier » ections from the hotel. - Very friendly staff, hotel looked like brand new. Everything was so clean there, room and beds were amazingly clean in comparison to other hotels we've been to on our trip. Very good continental breakfast. Even though the hotel building was close to the freeway, we didn't notice absolutely anything regarding the noise. Superb hotel, must recommend !

  Overall 2 thumbs up. Would expect a lower quality place for the price. Upon arrival I was pleased with the exterior appearance. This then extended to the professional staff. ALL were extremely helpful in pointing out places of interest and how to get around. This pleasure continued once I saw the accommodations. Although I can afford to stay where ever....when I need a hotel in the Barstow area...I will always choose California I - Motel has rooms with view to the unexpectedly large Pool. They have a back door and even a small terrace. We were a party of four with older children and the room was spacious and absolutely sufficient. We used the guest laundry and everything was in good working order and the prices were absolutely ok. The complimentary breakfast was a nice add on! We can strongly recommend the California Inn.

  Very clean and comfortable. Had my pet with me and the fee was nominal; they didn't give me a room with crappy carpet to accommodate the pet. Free breakfast was hot, if uninspired. Staff was nice. - Good location, good bed. All else as you would expect from an older property used as an overnight to somewhere else.

They do that well, but also make it clear that they will do their best to meet any need they have not thought of.
