Hotel was value for money, its exactly what you pay for. It does need a little up-dating but it is an old victorian building.Our superior villa had a modern kitchen, massive bed and was spotlessly clean. The man on reception was lovely and friendly and helped us out with parking. The hotel is in a great position near to beach and town. It also has a mexican restaurant next door which was really good, great food and brilliant atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Great value hotel to expl.
alle vurderinger » The location was excellent to spa with its newly opened restaurant. Funicular near to apartment made it easy access if preferred to walking down the cliff. 10 mins walk to town centre and harbour or 2 mins local shops in nearby street. John was friendly and helpful when we wanted to swap rooms. Room 33 was lovely with its shower. Room 30 has lovely sea views but no shower.three large rooms, nice and warm,very comfortable double bed, loads of hot water,large well equipt kitchen diner, comphy bedroom with large sofa and an all stations t.v. plenty of room for the two dogs, And next door is the best mexican restaurant in the country with a discount for people staying in the appartments. And really nice staff in the hotel. The location is superb with fantastic views of South Bay in both directions and easy access to The Spa. The staff were extremely helpful, friendly and informative, and managed to sort out what could have been a major problem when a fourth room we had booked via another booking site had not been registered with them. Very Good location.Lady on reception very happy and helpful.only stayed one night on our way to Eden camp.Well worth paying to park in front of apartments as parking is really bad in summer months.Mexican restaurant joined to apartments so expect cooking smells and people coming and going as seems very popular. The apartment me and my partner stayed in was absolutely lovely and not what we were expecting for such a cheap price! We couldn't believe it! The staff at the reception were incredibly nice and the restaurant attached had food to die for! Wonderful stay, will defiantly be going again. Highly recommended! . We were met at the door by the receptionist and swiftly booked in. He was cheerful and helpful and briefed us as to local hostelries etc. The room was excellent value for the price with lots of room and a kitchen. It was nice and clean. We had a great meal in the Mexican restaurant attached to the hotel. The environment was very friendly and relaxed. Excellent location & our view was good. The decor was not modern but everything was ok [kitchen and bathroom relatively new]. The beds in the bedroom were very comfortable [the sofa bed was not!]. Kitchen was well equiped. The location of the Villa Esplanade as I needed to travel to the Spa each day. Comfort in the room. Bed was excellent though the TV was more black and white rather than colour - connection problems. The toilet and bathroom were adequate and the kitchen better than expected,. Lovely apartment with a seaview and a view of Scarborough castle. Nice facilities, mini kitchen and bathroom and clean. Superb view of the castle and the sea. About 10 minutes walk from sea front and town centre. Helpful and friendly staff. Hotel was much nicer than expected by some of the reviews, safe really helpful especially the man on the reception ,we had a lovely sea view and everything we needed in the apartment.facilities were brilliant. Everything was perfect! The room was large and very clean and had an excellent view of the ocean. The price was great. Defo exceeded expectations. Will be staying again very soon hopefully. loved it. Having to pay to park the car. The building was once beautiful - requires a bit of tlc to restore it to its full original charm... The TV connection needs to be sorted out as its annoying fickering between black and white and its normal picture of colour. The Kichen cooker had no shelves inside which caused some problems when I wanted to cook.The room's electrics were on a meter and the power went off in the evening which caused a problem when trying to fit another 'pre paid' card into the meter. Apartment bit drafty through the windows. If I had to say anything it was just that the double bed was really hard and not very comfortable. No towels. The water did go off at one point, but I believe that wasn't a regular occurrence. Having to pay for the electric (albiet it's only £5 and it lasted us comfortable with heaters on for two nights). there is a mexican restaurant on the ground floor and the constant banging of a staff door is annoying weekday nights therestaurant closes early but weekend it drags on a bit.just fit a damper to the door?job done. Difficult parking as very limited space. Always book parking in advance to ensure a space. only a convector heater for room which eats into your electric and does nothing to heat the room very cold would have been nice to have kitchen closed off from bedroom as cloths stink of wat u have cooked. Had to pay extra for a towel but that would be the only real negative that and the constant rain ha ha got half way up the castle and uor umbrellas turned inside out not a problem we have in Australia haha!!!!!. On the Booking .com website I did not see that towels cost extra. the bathroom was very dated with push on shower. slight nuisance was outer doors locked frequently,meaning we all had to beback, or out together!. Having to pay for the electric - which we didn't! but I think that should be included with the price. Only minus point was that we booked thinking it was a hotel room and there were no towels for us in the bathroom when we arrived. Some of the taps needed new washers, I found them quite difficult with my arthritic hands. The outside of the building needs some attention, not a good first impression. Plumbing needs a major update Couldn't get any hot water in one of our rooms Decor in whole hotel needs work. The outside of the building and the corridors are in need of a full makeover (our room needed a lick of paint here and there but was fine). The curtains were falling down, the windows rattled very loudly in the wind. There were no towels, there was no remote control for the television and no basics like salt & pepper in the apartment. water not very hot,would be nice to have a shower at least over the bath & poss option off towels being provided if required. no towels in the room. extra charge for late checkout no towels. very clean but needs painting updateing. T.here was no heating on. It was very cold. n/a. no towels. Some decor needs updating. Exceptionally clean. Smell of the Mexican restaurant next door. No tea, coffee bags. Having to pay for the car park. been going to scarbro 45 years, 3 times this year, never ever been charged for scratch cards to park, also, been 2 flats this year on north bay, cost a pound in electric metre. £5 electric card, £4 for parking at yours. parking the car.
