  Great location - about 10 minutes walk to the old town and about the same from the bus & train station. It's in a side street so there is no noise from any main roads. Our double room had great character - wooden floors, bed etc. Bathroom was basic but clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. The coffee shop is lovely - also a great select... hva folk sier » ion of leaf teas. Breakfast was a good continental type - bread, hams, cheese, pastries, jam, fruit and eggs for boiling, plus tea, coffee, fruit jui - I had missed my flight connection so was arriving a day later and mentioned this to Petra who just waived off the day's fare for which I was not present! I was very touched. Petra and Angez (hope I got the spelling right!) who run the place are very warm and friendly people. The staff are very cordial, helpful and friendly too. I especially recall Marko and Rouk (do forgive my spelling errors!!) Excellent location, lovely food, weekly music concert on the terrace...highly recommended. I will go

  Great location as smack bang in the middle of the old town area, by the Triple Bridge; can walk to anything. Room was basic but fine for our needs & was clean & tidy. We only stayed here one night, but were very impressed with the chap at Reception as we were leaving about 6am (before breakfast) the next day, so he arranged for lunch packs... hva folk sier » to be made up & waiting for us as we checked out - fantastic! We didn't use it but they have as self service laundry which is very rare for a ho - the staff is very welcoming and helpful. the rooms are very clean and rather big. the hotel itself is in the center of the pedestrian zone which means on one hand to get there you need to park the car and go by foot (7-10min), but on the other hand it's very close to the center of the city and to the river. there is free good signal wifi in the rooms.

  When we searched for a hotel for three nights in Ljubljana we soon found Vander Urbani. The free accesible pool on top of the building was the final argument. When we arrived in Ljubljana city Google navigation tried to deliver us at the Hotel but there is no way you can reach the Hotel by car we found out. So we had to park our car in the nearest... hva folk sier » parking and walk for 5-10 minutes to check-in. The hotel has a deal with a specific parking so we moved our car again to avoid 39 euros for the car f - We really enjoyed our stay at the Vander Urbani resort. The staff were excellent and the food was delicious. We stayed in a deluxe suite with river view and it was on the pedestrian street in a great location. Someone met us in the nearby car park to help with our luggage and we got help going back also. Ljubljana is such a beautiful little town, we are glad we made a stop there. We had lunch at Valvasor which I highly recommend.

  I thought that Macek Rooms was perfect for my first trip to lovely Ljubljana. I was a bit nervous when I saw that most of the rooms are directly above the busy cafe, but the sound isolation was pretty good. The gift of some chocolate on arrival - Room was great size, lots of room to spill out of our suitcases. Fabulous location and great vibe, lots of people enjoying the sunshine and warmth. Free wi-fi and use of the Lonely Planet Slovenia book for our stay. Breakfast was great. Loved the coffee mugs and having breakfast in the cafe downstairs, all part of the experience. Fab restaurant across the alley way as well

  The staff are extremely helpful and sympathetic to our requirements and concerns. They go way out of their way to make the stay pleasant and arranging things outside the hotel easy. The room is bright, large and well appointed and the breakfast lounge a pleasure to eat in with a comprehensive array of choices and amazingly happy and attentive staf... hva folk sier » f. Arranging cabs and ongoing journey is all looked after...and at the right price. The free use of what's in the mini bar is a lovely add on. - Great location, very close to the center of the old city. This time I had a normal double room, which is already quite spacious and as comfortable as the junior suite I had before (which is even bigger and surprises with a huge, round bed). Minibar is free of charge in all rooms:-). Great and polite staff, natural instead of artificial, always having good ideas, and real experts of German football:-).
