  Having stayed in Hilton for a night just a few weeks earlier, I now regret I gave them a fairly good rating. Sofitel is at least one class better! We were lucky to get a complimentary upgrade to a larger room which was spacious, clean and made us feel special and welcome as guests. Breakfast quality was on a similar level and very g - The staff were friendly, always greeted us as we passed by and no request was ever too much trouble. Loved the peaceful ambience of the hotel with the low lighting of candles after dark. Loved the location just made for a leisurely stroll or a power walk along the beautiful waterfront. The outdoor cafe worked well for a light breakfast and the restaurant and bar were great at night. All of those things worked together to make our stay special and memorable.

We had a suite on 14 floor overlooking harbour which was well appointed and quiet from city noise and very comfortable. W had stayed here before under the Hyatt management which was not good, so delighted to have new ethos in a very good city hote - We had stayed at the hotel the week before and returned as we found the hotel comfortable, the staff helpful and the location just right for us.   I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at The Spencer on Bryon. The location was close enough to the city whilst maintaining an almost beach resort vibe. Great views of the Harbour and surrounding water. Was lucky enough to be upgraded to a one bedroom suite which felt like an apartment with kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and lounge room and balcony. The swimming pool spa & gym were great, staff were friendly and efficient. Close to shops & the beach + plenty of food options. Also had our own kitchen giving us the option to cook if we wanted to. Large comfy bed & black out curtains meant we got a great sleep. - I like the Castle Spencer on Byron. I stayed here for the evening before and of my wedding at the beginning of the month and liked it a lot, so my husband and I returned here on our last night in Auckland together. It is close enough to shops, restaurants and the beach in Takapuna. The rooms are clean, spacious and have good views. The beds are really comfortable.

  The taxi ride from the airport to the hotel was not a pleasant start to our stay in Sydney. A $40. ride turned out to be $77., but when arriving at the hotel the clerk was very nice and friendly and the rooms were available early, with all our baggage that was most appreciated. Bed was nice and clean and walking distance to the rail statio - Free shuttle to/from airport. Came very quickly to pick me up from airport and take me to hotel. Left promptly the next morning to get me back to airport for very early departure. Driver was very friendly. Restaurant, which was closed the night I arrived, gave me some cereal and milk as I was very hungry and it was after 10pm. I would stay there again if I travel to Auckland. The booking was easy online w/bookings.com
