This is a review of the family unit/ studio unit for 4 persons. This studio unit is very good value for money for 4 persons compared to another room we had also stayed in ( a private twin/ double for 3 persons which was rather cramped ). It is spacious, has parking just outside the unit and comes equipped with ensuite bathroom and a kitchenette.

Excellent place to go with a large party as you can hire out all the rooms within one unit and consume alcohol from any hour throughout the day, unlike all the other hostel/backpackers that like to have a curfew, very close to town, very comfortable and stress free stay!! A++

We found the motel very comfortable, even though our unit was quite old
in décor. The beds were comfortable, heating was good, and it was nice
to find a unit where you could sleep more than 2 children easily. (Unit
slept 6). Everything necessary for basic cooking was available. We

All staff were extremely accommodating and helpful. Staff were aware of who we were and which room we were in, providing a level of commitment to the guests.The hotel is perched on a breathtaking view of the river that no photo can do justice. After spending the day adventuring the Otago wineries, coming back to a reserved cinema room made the whole stay as if we were the only people around. And we weren't. Thank you again to the management and staff for making our stay a memory!

This is the best place I stayed in South Island. It seems to be newly renovated as everything looks clean and new. What I like especially is that it comes with washer, drying, dishwashing machine, crockpot and even a rice cooker. Definitely will stay here again. -
These apartments are close to the city centre, supermarket and other key locations.

The kitchenette, if you did not want to use the communal kitchen.
The surroundings beautiful.
Kitchen was well stocked with xtra plates etc.
Loved the gas cooking.
Although we did not use the breakfast facilities, I found there was an abundance of foods and variety.

We did like the environment and views outside, the lay-out of the building with rooms and balcony, preparations of food in the com- kitchen, breakfast at an affordable price, sky tv and the easy access to the carpark. The smart deal did give us the opportunity to explore. Thank you very much Shotover lodge. We will be back for more!

The room had everything we needed. It was nice and clean and reasonably priced. The views from the room were lovely.It was lovely to park right infront of our door. The staff in reception was exceptionally helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend a lake view studio! Liked the olde time atmosphere. -

We arrived early at 10am at the hotel & they let us have an early check in. Stayed at the superior double room ground level facing Remarkables. View absolutely stunning! I couldn't fault with this hotel..everything is great! Room is clean, bedsheets clean & soft...rooms are reasonably priced..you can compare it with other hotels with same quality.

Very good hotel, but fairly dated. we had room 109 - no problems, clean, with warmer in the room and bathroom, everything is working etc... but everything is dated. You would forgive a lot for the view especially considering that Queenstown is not the city where you would like to sit at home a lot ))
Location is very convenient, quiet, 5 minutes from the airport, 5 minutes from the city, parking on-site is available for free.
