It is still the best location even though there is a refurbished hotel at the other end of Galle face Green with nice rooms but not not the same quality or class by a million miles. Make sure you are in the new wing as the old wing is now very tired although it was the best a few years back. I think it is being refurbished and then it will be the better wing as the rooms are huge.

  There is nothing better than arriving in Columbo after a long flight and a nerve-rattling taxi ride through the city's crazy traffic, to be greeted by the Hilton's smiling, uber-professional staff and a welcome glass of cold lemonade. Aaaah! I cannot fault the Hilton Columbo. It was excellent in every way. And off course the naturally maintained tropical garden and with fountain ans swans etc. It was a great stay indeed.

  The room was incredible. Like stepping abck in time. It was full of beautiful old furniture yet the design was modern - a perfect fusion. I have stayed in many 5* boutique hotels and this one is by far the best room. Must be seen to be believed.   This hotel is beautiful and an oasis of calm in the city. The rooms are huge - almost like an apartment and tastefully furnished. The bed is very comfortable and big. We loved it and wished we had an extra night to stay for the Friday BBQ. The breakfast is great too. - Very Luxurious boutique hotel. The bedrooms were huge!
