  We loved Hofstadir. Our hosts Toti and Gudny were so warm and welcoming. They were in the middle of a potato harvest when we arrived in the snow! Toti greeted us as a farmer and came back 45 minutes later as an outstanding chef! He provided on of our most memorable meals in Iceland-- perfectly prepared cod with fresh, new potatoes and plated artis... wat mensen zeggen » ticly. They also sell some of their products at Hofstadir such as birch syrup, jams and jellies. Everything was delightful. We will be back. - This was one of the best if not the best location we have stayed during our holidays in Iceland. Very beautiful landscape, nicely equipped rooms, very helpful staff and superb restaurant. Besides some activities in the area it is also a perfect spot to just relax. Small remark: If you happen to go to a whale watching tour in Dalvik from here calculate with a drive of 2h, it's 120km. We didn't and it was quite a rush in the end.
