  The rooms were bright and clean and the hotel upgraded us to a Junior Suite because it was our wedding. They had some chocolate strawberries waiting for us in the room. Tha - The Radisson Blu 1919 is centrally located in downtown Reykjavik -- couldn't ask for a better location. Just a block away from the pedestrian area, and from the bus stop. The staff were always helpful and friendly in every way possible. Always. The rooms were very clean, with ample space. The breakfast buffet was really outstanding -- plenty of wonderful variety from which to choose. We felt very welcomed at all times here. That means a lot to us as travelers. The lady of the house was extremely helpful and kind: she ordered us a tour plus a taxi to the airport since we wanted to save a bit time due to our early morning flight. They answered questions, confirmed tours, made phone calls to check on things in other towns, made great suggestions about places to eat and buy things, and gave directions to get around.   We were a family group: Grandpa, Grandma, Daughter, grandsons ages 11, 12. We needed affordable lodging near shopping and public transportation. Downtown Reykjavik Apartments (dra) met and exceeded our requirements. The dra is just 2 blocks from one of the main bus stations in Reykjavik. From that point, one can travel anywhere in the City. The main shopping/walking street begins at the bus station and extends a number - We booked the smallest and cheapest available room (the double studio). When we arrived, finding our keys and room was very easy. The room was small but very clean - the bedding smelt very fresh. We also saw a family studio which was bigger and again very clean and pleasant. I asked to upgrade our room as I wanted a bit more space (the prices are very reasonable and I was happy to pay more). However when the owner and Thora heard it was the last leg of our honeymoon, they upgraded us to a 3 bed
