  Our experience at Port-Royal was fantastic! We were welcomed by reception staff, very nice (yes in English), our room was very large, separate bedroom, large kitchen area, full kitchen & large table & chairs...would be perfect for a family, as there is a full sofa in living area.( Room 202) There is an elevator for those who can't handle s... wat mensen zeggen » tairs, nice size hotel, not too big, so it is very charming. Alex, the manager of the dining area, runs a delightful place to eat! The quality of food - Port Royal is a fantastic hotel located in the heart of basse-ville (lower town). Our room 105 had original stones and wood beams dating from 1700´s. BEd is very comfortable, room decór is sooting and chic (shantung curtains, ceiling painted in grey-brown). Bedroom has a built in kithchenette very convenient. Hotel bar is really cool too. I would totally recommend future guests to head to local Quebec boulangerie named Paillard centrally located in Rue St Jean in Haute-ville (5min walt). Their

  The staff were bilingual and it was easy to communicate in English, even though I wanted to practice my French. It was in a relatively good location just outside of the Old City and basically everything I wanted was within walking distance (did not take a cab or transit at all). The beds and pillows were very comfortable, the shower head was large and great for a hot shower aft - Beautifully appointed rooms and amenities. Wonderfully friendly bilingual staff. Across street, market specialising in local produce and products - we went in fall and all the fruits and vegetables were perfect. The local eateries were excellent. The Quebecois, like the French, KNOW how to eat, and they seemed always to ensure that when selling you any product, they gave you all the info you needed to ensure the best experience when eating or drinking it. They were very courteous, attended to our requests, always willing to give us information and assistance with directions, restaurants, etc. The location was the best--- right in the heart of the old city.   Best hotel! The staff is superb, the rooms are so comfortable, the location is perfect, the food is great, and the whole experience was amazing. My boyfriend and I got stranded in the snow a couple of miles from Quebec City. When we called the hotel, the concierge sent someone out to help us. He was so kind and patient. He waited while the car com... wat mensen zeggen » pany sent us a replacement rental, he helped us move our luggage, and he even tried to help us move the car from the snow. He was amazing. The staff w - The location was perfect for a post cruise stay -- right across the street from the cruise ship. The room was truly fabulous: warm, inviting, comfortable, quiet. The staff was exceptionally helpful and friendly and the amenities were consistent with a 5 star hotel.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, and although they all speak English, they appreciated our (very poor) attempts at French.We ate often in the Saint James, and enjoyed the food and atmosphere there, as well as the friendly and efficient staff. I tend to rely on other visitor comments and found them to be very helpful.
