janette and brian made our stay at the lakes special. we arrived to a big smile from janette and as it was our anniversary she left a card and chocolates for us which i thought was really lovely x x x the rooms were spotless and breakfast was to die for x janette and brian are so friendly and helpful i would recommend anyone to stay there x x x -

Great location, good breakfast and very nice clean room. Room about to be renovated (Rydal Suite) which will make it even better. Free access to Parklands leisure club which was just along the road (5 minutes walk) and had swimming pool, sauna, steam room etc. - Use of private outside seating area for eating own evening meal.Viewsfrom dining room.

fantastic place to stay,ran by lovely couple Steve & Gail.
after a long journey our exhaust bracket on car had snapped,while Gail showed us to our room Steve strapped exhaust up to get us home after our stay.

When we got to Lakeside House we were personally shown to our room - No 1. The room was very roomy, comfortable and nicely decorated. The bed was huge! The location was brilliant - just a short walk to the centre of Keswick. Breakfast was excellent - particularly the Eggs Benedict. All the staff were friendly and gave us good advice on places

Everything! Warm and friendly, welcoming, respectful, happy and competent staff, wonderful breakfasts beautifully prepared/cooked, decor restful with warm tones modern but not clinical. And the view from our bedroom window was truly spectacular. We will return without hesitation or doubt!

I highly recommend this place. Friendly staff, wonderful choice and quality of breakfasts. The owner, told me he used to own a fish restaurant so that's obviously why the fish dishes are so perfect. Huge choice and excellent quality. Dining room is modern and there was a good atmosphere at breakfast time. Staff were efficient and friendly. Our budget room was clean and cofortable. Perfect for our stay. Limited parking on the premises but lots of free and unrestricted parkining across the road.

Lovely stay, great breakfast. Heather looked after us and any made us feel really welcome. We were given a choice of two rooms on arrival which was great. Nothing was too much trouble. Heather was a lovely women who made me and my fiance very welcome.
The guest room was very clean and well presented and we had everything we needed and the breakfast was to die for. Heather always made sure we had everything we wanted or needed during our stay.
The location of Chestnuts was very good because it was a 15 minute walk to the shops and 20 minutes to the nearest lake.
Me and my fiance will be going back there very soon...

Beautiful guest house. The room was a good size, beautifully presented and very clean. What we enjoyed about this weekend was the lovely peace and quiet,location and an excellent place to stay.
The owners ann-marie and paul were lovely and very informative of the surrounding areas..
