Cosa dice la gente
We really enjoyed our stay in St Bernard's House and would totally
recommended it. The room was really lovely, all the facilities included,
the staff friendly and helpful, breakfast was good and more than enough
in quantity (even though I was worrying because of other reviews I had
previously red). We also quite liked the location: the 'New
town' in Edinburgh is beautiful, with plenty of nice shops and
restaurants, and it's more quiet than the Old Town. Really good
deal, particularly considerin. tutti gli commenti dei clienti »
St. Bernard's House is situated in a lovely part of Edinburgh, surrounded by beautiful Georgian architecture, with plenty of little shops, pubs & places to eat etc. round the corner. We were more than happy with our stay and the couple who run the guest house were friendly and very helpful. We hope to return at some point and discover more about the local area and Edinburgh itself.
We spent our holiday very well at St. Bernard's House. Miss receptionist was very nice, kind and willing to help us with everything. Very friendly family-run hotel, rooms clean, tidy and well arranged. Hotel's position is near to center and very comfortable. We highly recommend when choosing your vacation in Edinburgh.
The room was clean and comfortable, and the staff was very helpful. The location to the main part of the city was perfect - and plenty of bus routes pass by the hotel at a constant rate.
Very nice, clean and cosy room (especially loved the rain shower in the bathroom!)
Very close to the city centre, and close to lots of great little restaurants & coffee shops.
I thought the setting was lovely and in summer would be really nice, a little walk to princes street to keep u fit but down hill to hotel. I would definitely stay again.
Friendly and helpful staff, plenty of hot water, shower superb. Continental breakfast was good, cooked one on request. Very nice room, quiet and comfortable.
Nice Bed & Breakfast situated in a lovely & quite area little far away from the city center (+/- 20min on foot).
Comfortable bed & shower!.
Shower was excellent, room was spacious with all the bits we needed. In a lovely location next to shops and restaurants and walkable into the centre.
The location is lovely, with some nice little local pubs, but also not far from the city centre.
Room is clean big and comfortable. Stuff is quite nice. A sainsbury local is near this hotel.
The house got a really nice location - near to the city center, but not in the middle of it.
The staff were really friendly the room was really cosy and was what we were looking for.
Period features of the room.
Cleanliness
Staff
Location was quiet but central.
Not far from the city center, kind staff and cheap breakfast. Very clean.
Nice and clean rooms (and a nice view from the window), friendly staff.
Kid's loved it . Just like being at home .definitely stay there again .
the staff was very helpful, they helped us with taxi and direction.
Room was very clean and spacious. Also bed was very comfortable.
Staff where simply great. very tidy and incredinbly friendly.
Very clean rooms. Provided nice bedding, towels, and soaps.
rooms clean staff freindly and polite.nice place.no noise.
Lovely hotel, clean and warm. Would definitely stay again.
Clean and comfortable, got first floor room as preferred.
No fancy frills, basic 'you get what you pay for' feel.
Perfect location, adequate and charming environment.
Clean, friendly, well maintained, good price.
Excellent welcoming and friendly staff.
Hotel was very clean and nice and warm.
Excellent breakfast.
Super location.
The room is spacious and its clean .
Great location. Lovely old building.
Nice tidy room.
Was about a 10-15 minute walk to the new town and 20 minutes or so to the old town. No problems with the check in or room overall.
Friendly , helpfull staff.
Took a one night only booking.
I had somewhere to rest while daughter went off to explore Edinburgh.
The location was ideal for our purpose visiting family in the area and within walking distance of Princes St and the Castle .
Quiet area. Near the old town. Easy for the car park.
Good price with the letsbookhotel.com's offer.
Location near center of city (Princesse str). Very comfortables rooms.
close to the city centre, cheap compared to other b&b, clean.
Clean comfortable rooms within walking distance to the city.
The value for money was great. Lovely rooms. Great location.
The stuff are kinda helpful and act quick.
Comfy bed & convenient location.
Helpful staff.
Staff quite friendly and nice.
Leaving.
Location.
we could only find this hotel to stay in as all hotels booked out for tennis and highland show only good thing about hotel it was close to tennis.
It could get a bit cold in the room, as the heating was on a timer.. but other than that, nothing bad to say at all.
Nothing.
Nothing really.
Other guests coming in and out at night as we were on the ground floor by the entrance and dining room.
The room was very small.
Location is a little far away from princes street but still 20mints can work there.
We met only two stuff members from which she was very kind and professional, but he gave very unpleasant comment when we were leaving the room 13 (!) minutes after the given hour although we didn't complain for having to change rooms between the two nights we staid...
Wasnt to visually on the location as it looked the same as all the other buildings hard to find.
No parking or anywhere near.
You have to pay for the wifi.
Just a bit of a walk into town no complaints really .
Would have preferred more of a hot breakfast.
It would have been a long walk to the city center but there was a bus stop just right outside that was super easy to use during out stay.
cooked breakfast needs reshaping. porridge served at same time as beans.then waited for the rest of breakfast which was two eggs two sausages ,hash brown, needs bacon beans then cold . and repricing lol.
The limited parking, most available was resident only and the few spaces allocated were £1.50 per hour maximum 4 hours, so couldn't leave vehicle all day.
Would have preferred a bath to a shower but it seems the luck of the draw as other members of our party did have a bath.
Not one thing!!.
Overnight parking was fine, but despite choosing hotel for its proximity to city centre we still had to drive the car into the city for all day parking, as on street pay&display parking near the hotel during the day was for a max of 4hrs.
No hot water in my bath/shower BUT the little bthrm with shower next door was excellent.
The hair dryer. Use few mins its stopped.
Room 11 downstairs very cold and it was noisy if you wanted a long lie.
The plumbing is very noisy from the next room. The door to the lobby is usually closed so not so much information is easily obtained from the staff as unsure if they were there.
Off of bus route for airport.
Our room was clean but had minimum space and if you were staying longer did not have much storage space for a couple.
No free wi-fi.
Poor breakfast.
staff was really rude, the rooms are really cold and not additional heating will be given.
Very limited parking available due to it being located in a residential area all permit holders only.
There was dirty around the Windows sill. The bath mate had holes in it. On arrival the host was in a great rush to get us into the room.
Not a lot of choices for the breakfast even if we've paid for it additionally. 5 prouds more for the hot breakfast, somewhat exaggerate i would say.
Decoration & carpets tired & worn, well due to be freshened up. Mould on walls/tiles in shower cubicle.
Continental breakfast was really poor quality and overpriced.
Pretty much everything. When we checked in, we were basically just
handed the key without a word being said. It was very noisy throughout
the night from people coming and going and general noise from the hotel.
When we checked out there wasn't anyone at the desk. I wouldn't
stay here again and suggest others avoid.
Poor staff information that took time regarding booking another night.
Breakfast was solid bacon overcooked and certainly not worth an additional £10.00 each.
Room was cramped and very poorly decorated/furniture.
The room was freezing, the heat was on a timer that wasn't on. The
proprietor was rude. They tried to charge us £10 cash for late check-
out. There was a strange odour throughout the house.
It was mentioned in that guest will be served with 'Full'
continental breakfast. Guest has to pay £5 for that. But the breakfast
was not close to continental. We were denied to be served with egg or
bacon or any other non-veg item that is part of the continental
breakfast. Apart from these the breafast was also not fulfilling. There
was always a disturbing sound when tap is opened. I can even hear
running water sound from the next room.
stayed in room 9 ground floor and heard everyone coming in at all times of night ,the shower and toilet of room 8 was boxed of in our room ie part of our room!!!!! every time someone in room 8 went to toilet and left light on the fan came on and stayed on till someone put it of which at one point was over a hour, till the next time!!! turn on taps and it would have woken the dead, not much sleep had and for £104 without bkfast was very over priced will not be staying again.
