  The hostel has been completely renovated and everything seems brand-new. There is a fully appointed kitchen and communal dining room with dishes and cutlery. Some food and drink is available for purchase at the dining area but a grocery is 200 metres' walk away, as are half a dozen hotel/restaurants. The village is calm, quiet, peaceful, and th... cosa dice la gente » e hostel is ideal for families; we felt very happy to be there, and the twin proprietors were polite, helpful, and friendly. - We weren't quite sure what to expect as we had not stayed in a hostel before. No problems though - the rooms and facilities were exceptionally clean and had everything we needed for our one night's passing stay. Excellent.

  It is located near Engelberg train station and has a breathtaking view all over. The staff, though he had very limited english, but so helpful when I said I needed to catch an early train and helped me arrange my schedule. He also gave me a private room instead of the dorm room that I booked.
