The location was very tranquil and beautiful. A very peaceful location to get away from it all. Love the food and enjoyed the bar!!

Great location. Very good room and attentive staff. They made us feel welcome from the very start with wine at check in. Raphael's was excellent, as was Sansibar. They held on to our bags while we went into Stellenbosch.

The whole package ! It felt very special . Watching the stars emerge in the clear night sky was magical .
The group of people talking very loudly around the pool area. It is a small intimate area in a superb setting but this group shouted at each other across the pool rather than move closer and speak quietly . I felt very sorry for the younger couples wanting to enjoy the romance. Not the hotels fault , but could possibly ask in signs/literature for respect the peaceful surroundings . Luckily the same group chose to eat out and we didn't have to endure the loud shouting .
It was a short business stay so did not experience much. Hoping for a longer leisure stay next time

The hotel itself is set in a stunning place with amazing views from the room as well as from the bar / restaurant. The front of house staff are efficient - but not warm.
What let's this hotel down is the lack of cohesive service in the restaurant, it's all a bit rushed, they don't seem to communicate with each other and we got the impression that they weren't happy. Very few smiles across the whole of the estate which is sad as this place could be "really" good.

Excellent facilities in a great location. The superior rooms are large and well appointed with a good size bathroom and balcony. Every effort is made to keep the premises spotless. The front office staff were very helpful.
The breakfast quality was not as good as the other hotels that we stayed in on our South African trip. The service was too mechanical and there was no personal touch.

Even in the deluxe room, only one person can use shower with hot water.. You need to wait a hour for second person..
It is just a wonderful place. Entering the gate is like entering wonderland :). As we visited Asara in early spring, floor heating was much appreciated.
Although, we bought two bottles of wine they charged us for tasting. For the price you better have a full glass at their restaurant. The wine was pretty good though as was the rest of the hotel.
The staff were really great. The rooms were large and well decorated. Bathrooms are huge! Nice Balcony overlooking the vineyards and pond. Food in main dining room was excellent with good service. Great breakfast with plenty of choices to start the day.

Even though we chose one of the cheapest rooms, we were extremely impressed with it. The staff were extremely helpful and the restaurants were excellent.
The food, the facilities, the staff, the views and everything especially how unique the property and the concept is.
The hotel is great all round. Once you've checked in you have no reason to be driving around Stellenbosch. I especially loved that there were many options for dining. We also did walks around the estate and the views were just breath taking.

The hotel is located in a beautiful landscape, among vineyards, olive trees and a lake, between the mountains... the room is extremely comfortable. Breakfast is excelent and the hotel still has a restaurant, a bar, a delli and, of course, the winery with wine tasting.
Great value for money!
We wanted to stay one more night, but the Hotel was unable to accommodate us at the same rate as we received a room upgrade. We were willing to move to a smaller room, but none was available. Would have been nice if they could have been a bit more accommodating.
