Setting, rooms, bathrooms, facilities aand luxury
Raphael restuarant - food very poor and service not up to std .
wine tasting was also 3 star
The hotel itself is set in a stunning place with amazing views from the room as well as from the bar / restaurant. The front of house staff are efficient - but not warm.
What let's this hotel down is the lack of cohesive service in the restaurant, it's all a bit rushed, they don't seem to communicate with each other and we got the impression that they weren't happy. Very few smiles across the whole of the estate which is sad as this place could be "really" good.
Excellent restaurant, bar and deli
Attention to detail
no gym to work out in
awesome hotel, truly deserving of its 5 star rating. went the extra mile for our honeymoon night by adding complimentary strawberries & champagne when we got back to our room the evening.
Spacious room and bathroom; excellent food - breakfast some tof the best we have seen. Price of wine good - beautiful setting.
Limitd TV channels - no tablecloths on tables in diningroom.
Gorgeous location with unbeatable service and great food.
Excellent facilities in a great location. The superior rooms are large and well appointed with a good size bathroom and balcony. Every effort is made to keep the premises spotless.
The front office staff were very helpful.
The breakfast quality was not as good as the other hotels that we stayed in on our South African trip. The service was too mechanical and there was no personal touch.
We enjoyed the stay very much. Beautiful hotel, great breakfast with amazing views, exquisite dinner at Raphael's, friendly and helpful staff.
the location, the staff and the level of comfort in the accommodation
Relax, very friendly stuff, very good wines
We had only 5 days to be there. Next time we will stay longer.
Good food and restaurant great value onfood and wine
Asara is really 5 stars worth.
We were well looked after!
Friendly and helpful staff
Close to Stellenbosch and Cape Town
Breakfast variety and quality
Quiet hotel with restaurant separated from it
Rooms beautiful and
General luxurious ambience, spacious and relaxing accommodation and
location, staff very friendly and enjoyed the discounted walk-in rate
the second time!
The room on the second night was a little far from the car park but
Good 5 star hotel!
Staff can be better trained to have professional service, bad management!
Even in the deluxe room, only one person can use shower with hot water.. You need to wait a hour for second person..
It is just a wonderful place. Entering the gate is like entering wonderland :). As we visited Asara in early spring, floor heating was much appreciated.
Although, we bought two bottles of wine they charged us for tasting. For the price you better have a full glass at their restaurant. The wine was pretty good though as was the rest of the hotel.
The staff were really great. The rooms were large and well decorated.
Bathrooms are huge! Nice Balcony overlooking the vineyards and pond.
Food in main dining room was excellent with good service. Great
breakfast with plenty of choices to start the day.
Everything was great!
Excellent facilities, very good value for money.
Nice pub / cigar bar
Hotel laid out in seperate blocks and you have to walk outside to your room. Was cold and wet when we stayed. Otherwise property lovely
The quiet. Friendly porters and restaurant staff. The scenery is
The receptionist wasnt the friendliest. A seperate spa would have
Room was fantastic
Could expand facilities for business center
Location and views are awesome
Staff are super friendly and competent
Quiet and peaceful
I ate something that made me sick, I think it was my dinner
the comfort, breakfast, the wine-tasting, the sigarbar, very frendly staff etc...
that customers from the hotel need to pay yhe wine-tasting, in the winter restaurant and rooms to cold, no indoor swimming pool for a 5 star hotel
Superb food at the Restaurant
Check in staff unfriendly
Large room, pleasant welcome and friendly helpful staff. Incredible views over the vineyard and mountains
Even though we chose one of the cheapest rooms, we were extremely impressed with it. The staff were extremely helpful and the restaurants were excellent.
The food, the facilities, the staff, the views and everything especially how unique the property and the concept is.
The hotel is great all round. Once you've checked in you have no reason to be driving around Stellenbosch. I especially loved that there were many options for dining. We also did walks around the estate and the views were just breath taking.
Everything, absolutely wonderful. Attention to detail was amazing
Rooms are fantastic restaurant is brilliant snf the food outstanding
Reception staff were not very friendly
Everything was amazing, the staff are very friendly and warm. I will definitely go back.
Great staff, wonderful facilities and rooms, spectacular wine estate setting, and gourmet dinning. A great gateway hotel for the entire Stellenbosch wine area
The hotel is located in a beautiful landscape, among vineyards, olive trees and a lake, between the mountains... the room is extremely comfortable. Breakfast is excelent and the hotel still has a restaurant, a bar, a delli and, of course, the winery with wine tasting.
Great value for money!
We wanted to stay one more night, but the Hotel was unable to accommodate us at the same rate as we received a room upgrade. We were willing to move to a smaller room, but none was available. Would have been nice if they could have been a bit more accommodating.
Great place. Awesome location. The staff was great. We went on oye honeymoon and received Champain flowers and chocolates. Very beautifull views
Absolutely awesome !!! Stunning views , gorgeous room and restaurant. Superb staff. Please do not consider the unbelievable bad reviews. One of our best stays ever ...
Accommodation outstanding and very comfortable. Food Excellent / Staff were very efficient and very friendly and everyone made us feel most welcome. We will definitely be back. I have recommended venue for a wedding in the future. Thanks very much!
heated clean room, reception on arrival golf cart and wine to our room, the upgrade
The serenity and calmness
All of it.
You have to park your vehicle far from the room.
Exellent views, exellent space in room, fabulous bar and meals.
Long distance from car park to rooms.
The hotel made a special effort to make our stay memorable.
The view, the breakfast and dinner
The friendly staff
Nothing comes to mind!
Everything! This was a superb offering.
The limited number of DSTV channels. Too many foreign channels (although perfect for foreign guests). SA guests need more than one Sports channel.
luxury, away from city , tranquility, hiking in the vineyards.
A poor cut of rib eye steak at Raphael's Restaurant. 200g steak of which about 80g uneatable fat! Maitre d "shrugged", he'll tell the chef!!!
The hotel was wonderfully relaxing with stunning views. There is a bistro and restuarant one can go to, so saves the trip into Stellenbosch. Of course a lovely wine tasting opportunity as well.
I was with my older daughter and friends and we had a wonderful time.
Very upmarket and we were fortunate to get a very good rate including breakfast - so it was best value for money!
