The hotel is located in a beautiful landscape, among vineyards, olive trees and a lake, between the mountains... the room is extremely comfortable. Breakfast is excelent and the hotel still has a restaurant, a bar, a delli and, of course, the winery with wine tasting.
Great value for money!
We wanted to stay one more night, but the Hotel was unable to accommodate us at the same rate as we received a room upgrade. We were willing to move to a smaller room, but none was available. Would have been nice if they could have been a bit more accommodating.
Great place. Awesome location. The staff was great. We went on oye honeymoon and received Champain flowers and chocolates. Very beautifull views
Absolutely awesome !!! Stunning views , gorgeous room and restaurant. Superb staff. Please do not consider the unbelievable bad reviews. One of our best stays ever ...
Accommodation outstanding and very comfortable. Food Excellent / Staff were very efficient and very friendly and everyone made us feel most welcome. We will definitely be back. I have recommended venue for a wedding in the future. Thanks very much!
heated clean room, reception on arrival golf cart and wine to our room, the upgrade
The serenity and calmness
All of it.
You have to park your vehicle far from the room.
Exellent views, exellent space in room, fabulous bar and meals.
Long distance from car park to rooms.
The hotel made a special effort to make our stay memorable.
The view, the breakfast and dinner
The friendly staff
Nothing comes to mind!
Everything! This was a superb offering.
The limited number of DSTV channels. Too many foreign channels (although perfect for foreign guests). SA guests need more than one Sports channel.
luxury, away from city , tranquility, hiking in the vineyards.
A poor cut of rib eye steak at Raphael's Restaurant. 200g steak of which about 80g uneatable fat! Maitre d "shrugged", he'll tell the chef!!!
The hotel was wonderfully relaxing with stunning views. There is a bistro and restuarant one can go to, so saves the trip into Stellenbosch. Of course a lovely wine tasting opportunity as well.
I was with my older daughter and friends and we had a wonderful time.
Very upmarket and we were fortunate to get a very good rate including breakfast - so it was best value for money!
Only that I was not able to stay longer
Exellent and luxurious room.
It was just amazing!
It is the first time in 6 years that I have nothing to complain!
The surroundings the service the big rooms.
things are far from one another. Don't forget or e your key
Might cost you a 10 main walk.
Everythink was excellent!!!
Sometimes WIFI was too slow or bad reception.
Friendly staff. Great service.
Excellent resort and staff. Loved the location and great food.
I loved my stay at Asara. The staff was really friendly and the rooms
was cleaned and comfortable. The view was amazing from the room. Me and
my boyfriend had perfect weekend away and I could recommend Asara to
anyone. The food was also nice and not to pricy.
The best bit about this hotel was that the staff at this hotel were all
second to none, very well trained. The hotel was set in an amazing
location with mountain views, and the rooms were spacious and well
designed (feel of an old French vineyard, but modern well done rooms).
The food in the restaurant was also very good, and served to an
extremely high standard. Very close to Stellenbosch too...
It is a very comfortable hotel, in a beautiful location and serving excellent food.
ambience and the setting
The general ambiance and attention to detail is exceptional, the facility induces relaxation and a feeling of comfort.
The room work station is extremely uncomfortable because the table is too low...
The bar/lounge area staff tend to not be attentive to hotel guests
great location, excellent staff, outstanding breakfast, nice rooms.
poor Internet access.
The setup feels like a small village somewhere in Europe.
The fish and chips at Sansibar was too oily
everything great except ...
I feel the food was not up to par with the quality of the rest of the hotel
I loved the location. Beautiful lakes and vineyards with lots of bird
viewing! Excellent value for money
Restaurant closed early. Do not get the courtyard room because the view
is ugly. Next time I would pay more for a better view.
Special rate we got our room for.
After touring the Western Cape - We booked Asara for our last night in South Africa and what a great surprise- The staff where friendly and helpful -beautiful large rooms and a view over the pond and wineyard.... We arrived quite late and they kept the kitchen open for us to have dinner. We left with quite a few bottles of splendid wine in the suitcase and wonderful memories. Thank you
Efficient staff, true 5-star feel down to the turn down service, posh accomodations and surroundings. Absolutely delicious breakfasts, great value for room service, and good wine.
Distance from Stellenbosch itself and the price for late check-out.
Beautiful surroundings, excellent welcome and service. Rooms were gorgeous and the whole estate was very well maintained. The on site restaurant was excellent (Raphaels) and was one of the best meals we had in South Africa
The hot water in our room didnt work but this was quickly dealt with and the service was brilliant
Absoluteley enjoyed the stay. Room was excellent, breakfast really good and overall excellent experience.
Restaurant very pricey.
From the moment we arrived, to when we left, all the staff we're very friendly and welcoming and professional... To the point that we forgot our jacket there after checkout and they called to let us know they had found it!
Rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. Raphael's restaurant had delicious food. Breakfast was a real feast!
I could not have picked a better hotel in which to celebrate my husband's 30th birthday. Although I made my booking the night before our arrival, the staff at Asara went above and beyond to make our stay special, even having a delicious cake and champagne ready in our room much to my husband's delight (and I didn't even request this!). Breakfast the next morning was perfect and the setting in which we found ourselves helped us relax and enjoy our little escape to its fullest.
Dinner at the pricey Raphael's onsite was a little disappointing. We ordered the pork belly (R140) and the roast baby chicken (R95) which didn't live up to expectations. The restaurant is beautiful though and we enjoyed our drink at Sansibar next door.
Setting and rooms.
Food in the pretty expensive restaurant was not always good.
The location, friendly and caring staff and warm welcome when we arrive.
great place with very friendly staff
The beautiful setting overlooking the vineyard and lake, delicious food and wine, excellent service and comfortable room with amazing turnaround service.
The staff, location, venue, quality
Friendly, helpful staff.
Wine tasting boring compared to Bergkelder, but better than Spier and Vergelegen despite the simple venue. Asara have some good wines.
Bit close to Stellenbosch, one does hear the traffic from the city at rush hour. No gym.
WiFi patchy (avoid 201) and slow, but acceptable for email.
The hotel is just great!!
So beautiful!! And its wine tasting is the best!
We couldn't have asked for a better stay while in Stellenbosch. The
rooms were spacious, clean, and had beautiful views of the vinyards and
the Stellenbosch montains. Sometimes in the morning a light mist would
roll over the mountains-- a view that's hard to beat.
The hotel staff was AMAZING. They came to clean the room in the morning and did a wonderful turn down service in the evening (you get a delicious caramel!). I also lost my phone on a bus to a safari. It was lost for 3 days and I had nearly given up hope. The hotel staff kept trying to retrieve my phone and finally found it and had it delivered to me at my next destination (free of charge) in Cape Town. How amazing!
The wine at the estate was also lovely. I recommend the red cabernet sauvignon. The two restaurants at the hotel (Sansibar and Raphael's) were also delicious-- and also had amazing views.
This is the perfect place to book for a quiet and beautiful stay in Stellenbosch, South Africa.
The relaxing atmosphere and hospitality of he people
Returning home from such beauty
The mountain facing room was lovely and had a covered balcony.
The Porter was very helpful.
The pool area and bar were great with lovely views.
The restaurant again had lovely views and the food was great with good service and friendly helpful staff.
The first impression was fantastic, the guy who took us to our room was friendly and took us on a mini tour before dropping us at our room. The restaurant and bar are fantastic and the general atmosphere is one of luxury and tranquility. We will definitely return to Asara
Polite Helpful Staff
Nice Pool to relax by
Excellent inexpensive wines
