The general ambience of the hotel. With the exception of 1 member of staff we were very impressed with the way in which staff had been trained and the way in which they attended to every need of their guests. I erroneously left my wallet in the room that I had booked in. I immediately received a call advising me of the misplaced wallet. I received everything in good order, nobody had tampered with the contents. I'm still highly appreciative of the staff for their efficiency and integrity! I also highly appreciated the buffett at Saffron Restaurant!

Classy, lovely finishes. Great service from staff. Our 7 year old really wanted pancakes for supper. Our waitress asked the pastry chef, who sent out 6 delicious pancakes with syrup - which we all devoured! -
Friendly professional greeting in the car park, reception was quick. Room and bathroom were clean, well appointed, beautifully decorated.

The special treats at night by closing the curtains, open of beds and
chocolates were very special and a nice touch. The design and re-use of
an old building is such a clever idea and most pleasing to the eye. The
chef at breakfast as well as supper and presentation was excellent.

The venue is situated at the habour, so we could view the activities of
the harbour which was interesting. The venue is also very peaceful and
quite, so if you want to relax, away from the "city in the
city", this is ideal. We also loved the lounge area outside in the
courtyard, so if you want to have your meal or drinks outside the
restaurant, it makes it an excellent option.

Although its in the city, you don't get to hear to city noise and the views from the hotel are very nice - From arrival to departure, we were made to feel that we were guests and not just people to fill rooms. We would stay there again when next we visit Durban.

For an overnight this was a good choice; our arrival was late afternoon into Durban and we were nervous about driving in the dark. It quickly falls dark around 18.00, apparently year round.
