Riad Layla is on the edge of the Medina, but it is only a few minutes
walk from the blue gate. The terrace has a fantastic view of the old
Medina. The breakfast every morning is wonderful, and each of the staff
is extremely friendly and helpful. We originally booked for 2 days, and
we extended another day of stay in Fez. Both Chaimae and Iolanda speak
fluent English and are gracious in providing us tips around the Medina.

The owner Reibal and his staff were absolutely the best among all the riads we stayed at during our two-wk trip through Morocco. Reibal gives his personal attention to each guest like no other hotel owner, and makes you feel like staying at your own home in Fez. A very lovely restored traditional Moroccan home, that would be. Well located in the heart of the Medina, we found the suite to be roomy
and sunny and provided a very enjoyable 4 day stay.

The Riad Le Calife is a wonderful experience, from the gracious welcome and the comfortable check in (with its mint tea), through the delightful rooms, garden, terraces, to the wonderful meals. You could not stay in a better place in Fes, in Morroco, or in North Africa. The staff and hosts are helpful, charming, engaging, informative, and happy. We arrived as strangers and left as friends.
