  Yumoto Fujiya Hotel wasn't super cheap, but very conveniently located, minutes from Hakone-Yumoto where you will have to change trains no matter what. It's a good place to arrive the previous night to have an easier start the next morning. The room, although not very cheap, was super spacious and comfortable. AC: worked great - Excellent location very close to the train station but very quite and relaxing. We were traveling around east Japan and this was the most expensive and poshest place we stayed but it was well worth it. Staff were great. It was clean, spacious and very comfortable. According to my companion the Onsen was perfect. I chose to get a shower with the dazzling array of toiletries provided. As well as an excellent base for exploring Hakone we took a day trip to Tokyo which took under 2 hours by train.

  We arrived in thick fog with not much of a visibility. The good thing was that there was someone from the hotel with our name in a list who met us at the bus stop and showed the way. The hotel is in a good, quiet location close to the main street but not directly on it. In the morning, we were served a fairly elaborate Japanese-style breakfast. - I like the service of the hotel crew, they are very friendly and good service.
