We found about Fukuzumiro in Lonely Planet and decided to give it a try in order to escape from the more crowded cities in our 2 weeks visit to Japan.
We stayed in Fukuzumiro two nights in a weekend last may and, simple put, the best experience of our trip.
Short of words to exprese what an awesome time we had, from the truly japanese cuisine, hot thermal "onsen" and the friendly staff, all was 100% perfect.
5 min walk from Hakone-Yumoto, it is a perfect place to start one of the day trips to M

was that there was someone from the hotel with our name in a list who
met us at the bus stop and showed the way. The hotel is in a good, quiet

fairly close. You can use the onsen which is open almost 24/7. In
the morning, we were served a fairly elaborate Japanese-style breakfast. -
I like the service of the hotel crew, they are very friendly and good service. Although most of the crew do not speak much English but they'll try to help.

lo staff è estremamente gentile, la struttura è bella con le camere che sono dei mini appartamenti!!! l'onsen è immersa nella natura e c'è la possibilità di usufruirne anche a tarda sera. la colazione consiglio di prenderla occidentale, poichè quella giapponese ha sapori troppo forti!! -

The dinner and breakfast are abundant, if you don't like the fish in the morning there is also a western breakfast. The outdoor baths are close to the river, very relaxing and beautiful. Good position for visiting Hakone and its area. -
Onsen (hot baths) outside by the river were lovely and could be reserved for private use in the evenings.
Convenient for bus transport.
Futons were comfortable.
Good food (feasts would be more accurates).
Wi-fi available.
Staff were very nice, some could speak English (enough for us to communicate).
Good value.

Beautiful roykan, staff were exceptional. The onsen was lovely! We did
the private one and also used the shared baths. Once we learnt the
Japanese way to bath we really enjoyed it! The hotel is set right
against the river and has a lovely view and nice sounds of water. The
room was large for Japanese standards. The staff laid out our bed and
night and put it away again in the morning, The breakfast was very
Japanese and a little bit too fishy for our taste, but very authentic
