This is our second time staying at the Hotel an der Oper and we chose it again for its excellent location. It is located very near the Hofbrauhaus (and other eating & drinking places such as Augustiner and Hard Rock), which are all very easy to walk to. The location is fabulous. You can walk to everything -- and we did! Most of the top sights of Munich are right nearby. The same is true of many of the best restaurants and shops. The staff was very helpful with reservations, including getting us excellent seats at a very popular performance of Rigoletto, which was right around the corner. They also selected and reserved a perfect restaurant for our first night in the city. Very nice!

Love the design inside the hotel with the different themes and decorations of the many angels, old photographs, artifacts, quotes on the wall and the small heart shapes you find here and there. Lovely atmosphere.

I am extremely positively impressed by the behavior of the entire staff who checked me in and checked me out of the hotel. Easy walking distance to central station or indeed right to city centre (half an hour or so) if you like a stroll. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, comfortable room - no street noise that we heard. Nice little bar for a cheeky beer after a busy day. Public transport ans a few restaurants all in walking distance. Really enjoyed our city break here.

room service was very reasonable and they have an excellent secure luggage storage area. staff are great and the location is good, near to the central station but just outside that seedy area you get near all main stations
