Beautiful French Basque town, complete with the walled section of old town with stone streets, charm. Be sure to get an afternoon treat at Cort Tarte. Tres bien! Evalina at Hotel Itzalpea is delightful, helpful, and the breakfast was tres Jolie. Next door is an excellent restaurant for delicious hamburger and pomme frites.

Itzalpea is in a central location in the beautiful town of St Jean Pied de Port. It's a lovely cosy little B & B, in a cute old building with lovely old antique furniture, pretty furnishings and vases with fresh flowers. Breakfast is wonderful - for eg, natural yogurt in a glass pot, fresh fruit salad, fresh croissants, ham, great coffee - all presented very tastefully. Bedroom & bathroom clean and comfortable.

Perfect place to stay if you're a pilgrim going to Santiago de Compostela. Very nice and helpful staff that speaks English. Nice swimming pool and surrounding. -

Lovely family-run hotel, away from the bustle of nearby (3km)St Jean-Pied-de-Port which is full of shops and of course pilgrim travellers en route to Compostella. It was very peaceful and sitting in the garden for our evening meals which were excellent, with the sound of the nearby river and birdsong was simply lovely. A lovely small village location.

We liked EVERYTHING about Hotel Ramuntcho! The hosts were wonderful and prepared. The location was excellent. And the rooms were spotless (I loved the olive oil based soap and hair/body wash too)! -
