The friendly staff who allowed us to leave 1 suitcase and a golf bag with them for a few days whilst we travelled "light" to the south of France and then returned to stay one last night in the hotel. Also Justine booked a taxi for us to go to airport and was able to give us quotes etc for the trip. She responded very quickly to emails about this

We loved the room which was a converted priory complete with vaulted ceiling and chandelier. It was across the lane from the cathedral which was spectacular. Breakfast was lovely and plentiful. It was a really quiet location with a comfortable bed. It was a great base for visiting the Somme battlefields -

Since 1996 we have stayed at the hotel on seventeen occasions, particularly when it was managed by Isabelle and Freddie. The hotel is now better than ever. The breakfast room and the buffet breakfast was excellent, and so was the food for the evening meal, both in content, cooking and price. We stayed for two nights on the 29th and 30th April 2013

his team are friendly and welcoming. I was offered secure, covered
parking for my motorcycle which was much appreciated. The rooms are
basic, but clean. A good shower and basin, but no bath. It was a hot
weekend and the fan in the room was very welcome. Dinner was at a
fairly standard country French food level and was tasty and well-
cooked. Breakfast was a generous cold buffet. Overall the accommodation
was good value.

The hotel is well-situated, and typical of an older french hotel. Although it looks a little tired in places, it is very clean, the rooms are a good size and the beds very comfortable. The Le Carlton is in a great location within walking distance of the train station, cathedral and city centre. The room that we had was spacious, clean and we appreciated the double glazing. The staff were amazing and I would like to congratulate them on being the most helpful, professional and pleasant people that we have dealt with. For example they went out of their way to assist us when our Somme Tour operator didn't arrive at the designated time.
