  I loved everything about the hotel. Every member of staff was reallyhelpful and quite lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. The bookingout time of 12 noon was realistic and breakfast between 7 and 11 wascertainly more civilised than some hotels.   A real 5-star experience. The hotel excels at every opportunity. Staff are courteous and friendly. The building is amazing, the decor very pleasing. Our room was huge with everything we could need. So glad we chose to dine in the restaurant and relax after dinner in the Whisky Room where service and selection were excellent.   Upgrade to top suite, much appreciated. Impeccable, top notch service. Good car parking facilities. Convenient short cab ride into York city centre, also good for racecourse. - Everything. Stayed in the courtyard area and it was delighful. The room was fantastic. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Certainly will be going back there again.
