The Swimming pool was nice, the staff was extremely friendly and any inconveniences were met with generous offers and gifts to apologize. The breakfast was amazing and not extremely expensive. Room was clean , hotel was in a great location down side was the price of the drinks in the hotel bar although other bars are very close little dis organised at breakfast had to wait for a seat for ten minutes another couple came Down down and were seated immediately fire alarm was set off at 6.30am and we had to evacuate on a Sunday morning but that couldn't be helped and we did receive a letter of apology overall a good hotel with excellent facilities great location will definately be back

The suite we were given was really comfortable in an annexe (converted cottage), It was full of old world charm, tastefully decorated and had it's own beautiful cottage garden full of scented flowers. It's hard to find better staff, it was bonfire night and the staff arranged us so we could see the fireworks while waiting for the dinner at the restaurant. Also made possible that my girlfriend could have dinner, that's rare because she's allergic to so many things that usually restaurants can't serve us.
Also truly fast Wifi, we could stream HD with our netflix account.

Great welcome. Food was excellent including vegetarian options. Small but sensible and affordable wine list. Clearly a work in progress (room refurb is ongoing so not all rooms yet renovated) but comfortable and clean with good breakfast options. Will be staying again I'm sure. I checked in early evening and was greeted well by the Managers, then taken straight to my room. They made a real effort to accommodate me and always with a smile. The staff were very attentive and made us feel very welcome - even though they were very busy with the restaurant and bar area.The evening meal we had on the Friday evening was excellent. We will be booking the Millgate House Hotel again for our visit to Newark next year for the Vintage Tractor Show.

The friendliness of the staff, being able to use the spa and gym, relaxing atomosphere. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. - Service was excellent, staff couldn't do enough for us. Facilities really nice. Local area great for relaxing.
