  We had a wonderful time in The Stables - a characterful stone cottage with original beams and other features and set in the most idyllic location. However there was also every mod con you would need and it was furnished and decorated to a very high degree. Although remote still only a ten minute drive to the nearest town. Very comfortable, quaint little cottage. We were totally undisturbed and encouraged to explore the surroundings. The animals, especially the pigs, were very amusing.

  Our birthday surprise for Dad went down really well. I booked the suite with balcony as we had a travel cot to give maximum space which it did. The hotel which does allow dogs had immaculate bedroom, bathroom and sitting room facilties including a spa bath which was a lovely surprise.   What a fantastic place! Crisp clean sheets and fresh towels, a refreshing change from other guest houses I have stayed at. The owner, Ed I think? Was very friendly, he even sat on the table next to us at breakfast one morning to give us local tips on where to go. The breakfast was top notch - my daughter liked the small cereal boxes. There is a table ful - The facilities were spacious and clean and the breakfast was excellent. The staff were very thoughtful and put a children s programme on the TV for my young son and gave us some bread to feed the ducks on the mill pond which is a local beauty spot.

  When we arrived late on Friday night the staff were more than happy to let us head straight into the restauant prior to checking in. As the hotel wasn't busy we were given a free upgrade to an absolutely beautiful room which just made the weekend for us. I honestly don't have a single complaint about the entire weekend and will happily come back for another visit. - We were travelling with our dog and were told that the hotel was pet friendly. We cannot fault the service or friendliness of the staff nor the quality of the hotel's facilities. We ate at the hotel and as everything else the food was of the best quality.
