The hotel generally was clean and tidy and the breakfasts were homecooked and delicious. - The owners of The Charterhouse made us feel very welcome. The house is in a great location for Torquay and near to Cockington Country Park. The hotel is great and you feel right at home in a relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast room was very pleasant and the breakfast was excellent. We couldn't have asked for more. We will be booking again.

Good location, close to Torquay centre had parking facilities at rear of hotel and parking at front of hotel which was very good as difficult to park in Torquay centre. Very clean rooms with everything that is needed. The dining room and lounge were very comfortable. The breakfast was more than adequate with plenty of variety. Tea and coffee offered in abundance. We enjoyed our short break immensely. We were made to feel very welcome by all the staff, and were always recognised when we came into the hotel by the staff on duty. The facilities were great-suited our needs perfectly. We will definitely return again. -

We received a very friendly greeting from Nicky, as though she had been waiting for the arrival of someone she already knew. The breakfasts were excellent, and the tables in the dining room were not too close together. Our room had a lovely view over the garden, and was very peaceful. This is our second time staying and we were very pleased to be going back. Owner is very friendly and the rooms we have had had been recently refurbished and are clean and comfortable. High quality breakfast and very relaxed feel. Best bits of staying in a hotel and some one's home.
