  The hotel was very comfortable and the staff service was great, i have absolutely no complaints. Wpuld definetly go back. - the hotel was very friendly and the food was lovely. the hotel had a nice cosy ambience to it.

Nicely, restored large house across from Oban bay, just far enough out of town to be walkable and quiet at same time. Beautiful views of Kerrera and sunset.   Raniven is a first class guest house. We had a room on the top floor. It was quiet and very comfortable with two easy chairs - a real treat! There was room to move about in the bathroom and the shower was excellent. Continental breakfast was superb with a good choice. Bacon and scrambled egg was also an option. Stuart and Moyra were lovely hosts, very welcoming and helpful, and the accommodations were clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The buffet breakfast included not only a full continental breakfast, but several hot plates as well, and was easily comparable to the "Full Scottish" breakfast served at other B&Bs.

  My sister and I arrived earlier than the designated check in time and were greeted by a lovely staff member (Chris). He assured us that he would clean our room first in order for us to check in early. He also helped to carry our bags to our room and refused a tip. He was extremely accommodating and friendly.   We had a warm welcome after a very stressful drive in snowy conditions. Our car ran off the road! We phoned ahead to explain we would be late. We eventually arrived after midnight and were welcomed. We felt we had arrived at a warm and safe haven. We had a long sleep in the next morning to recover from our ordeal. Oban is a very pretty town, especially in the - Very good price and excellent location close to the town centre. The house was lovely and warm- essential in the winter months. The room had everything you need and coffee as well. They were very friendly and gave us all the information we wanted in a helpful manner.

  We booked 3 rooms at the last minute and did not notice that the rooms were not en-suite. We were concerned as we had an 80 year old solo lady in our party but everything was fine. Nice clean guest house and very nice owners.   As we made a decision quite late, most of the hotels were fully booked. However I dont regret. We got a really nice quite large room with amazing sea view. Staff were friendly especially nice guy who works at the reception and the bar in a basement. During check in we were informed that wifi works only in ground floor, however we had good connecti... ce que les gens disent » on in our room. Housekeeping definitely did they best, room was nice and tidy. I work in 4 stars hotel so I can't compare... but I'm satisfied and I c - Clean, comfortable. Like living in a big family home. Breakfast was honor system, you cooked or ate and then paid the prices in a honesty jar. Made our own breakfast, cleaned up after or selves and talked with lots of different folks from all over. Beds were great, showers had plenty of hot water. Great price. Pub under neath the hostel, I can see that in the summer with the outside pub overflow it would be loud.

  lovely hotel and clean and well kept gardens to the front, easy access to promenade along front, staff very helpfull and friendly, food very good, nice veiws, a short drive from glasgow and 20 min ferry ride gets you there, if you are looking for beautiful scenic drives,walking or island hopping then dunoon will do you well - We loved the setting... ce que les gens disent » , the rooms were very clean and comfortable, the 'cheesy' but enjoyable and fun Scotland night, the welcoming, friendly and efficient staff, the food and the price/costs. Overall, we were very impressed and quite surprised with the quality of everything.
