I stayed here while visiting my daughter who lives in York and I found this hotel to be lovely. The staff were helpful and friendly. At the bar the service was excellent and the breakfast (a buffet) had something for everyone's taste. The hotel was spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable. I had a room at the front of the hotel overlooking the road, a nightclub across from it, but it didn't bother my nights sleep in the least. The shower was lovely (a walk in shower) and very roomy. It is located at a walking distance from the rail station and close to the cathedral. - Liked bieng in a room at the rear of the hotel,so noise from the adjoining night club was minimal. Bar Convent is lovely. It's cheap, clean, safe, quiet, comfortable, welcoming and convenient for central York.
It isn't luxurious, but you don't choose to stay in a working convent if you want luxury. Everything you need is there and more, including a huge garden which is a big plus in York city centre.
It's also wonderful as a solo traveller to stay somewhere that doesn't make you feel like a second-class guest and has thought about the facilities you'll want, like a communal sitting room, din

The staff were very good and helpful- restaurant very acceptable with a very good (eat as much as you want) breakfast.
The rooms were typical Premier Inn-so you know what to expect and you know the quality to expect (Good).
Excellent location for the rail station and a short walk in to town. -

Staff were young but so polite, they were a credit to themselves and to premier inn.
Rooms quiet, bed huge, all staff in all areas acknowledged us, we have stayed in premier inns before but the service here was exceptional

Pleasant terrace in a quiet street. Not far at all from York rail station but I didn't realise this at the time so I got a taxi to take me to Briar Lea. [He did grumble a bit!] Once the owner had explained the location, I enjoyed walking the 10 mins along the attractive riverside path into the city. I know British b&bs and hotels very well so

races and it was great that the owner and other guests shared that

The staff were extremely helpful and suggested that we change our roomto meet my mother's needs (she'd hurt her foot at work and is scared oftravelling in lifts so we'd have needed to climb 6 floors to get to ourroom). It is quirky in layout, yet has a very cosy feel. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and hot options cooked to order. it was new years eve .we shopped ate and went into town for the local night life.we visited the museum and skating rink and had a wonderful time - The place was clean and comftable and is situated in a quite road but still close to the town centre

The staff was very friendly and helpful. We arrived early and since the room was ready, they let us go upstairs and freshen up before sightseeing.
