I loved everything about the hotel. Every member of staff was reallyhelpful and quite lovely. Nothing was too much trouble. The bookingout time of 12 noon was realistic and breakfast between 7 and 11 wascertainly more civilised than some hotels. The bed linen and towels are lovely, very luxurious and comfortable. The breakfast is delicious, especially the freshly squeezed orange juice. The hotel is close to the city centre, around a 10- 15 minute scenic walk. There are restaurants and a supermarket very nearby. Walking distance to the train if minimal, easy to manage luggage. Staff were excellent. Highly recommend this hotel, it is very beautiful.

I didn't arrive until 11.30 pm because of a delayed journey from London, however the person on duty was very helpful. Our first experience of a hostel ever & we have nothing but positive comments to give!! This is a hotel without the extras (I.e doesnt have a hairdryer/towels & a tv on the wall), other than that it does exactly what it says on the tin!! Excellent staff, excellent food, excellent value for money all round!!) Would definitely stay here again!

the staff from our arrival were more than helpfull, and went out there way to find us a nice resturant to eat in and made the reservation for us. the hotel and the staff were brilliant! - The location and view from our room was excellent as was the room itself. we chose tho stay here as we didn't want to be right in the middle of town. It' s a 25 minute walk to the Minster though there is a bus stop right outside if you want save your legs. The location was nice & quiet with hardly any traffic. The room was large, clean & comfy & there was plenty of nice food for breakfast. The hosts were friendly & helpful & were able to give us some really useful information. We will definitely stay there again when we return to york next year.

Had a great stay at Burswood Guest House, the attention to detail was first class, down to dressing gowns, slippers, chocolates and real napkins (not the usual paper serviettes) The breakfast was excellent a great selection of fruit and a lovelly cooked breakfast. What a fantastic place to stay! This was a two night treat weekend at the races for my father in law and did he get a treat, as we did also! It was like staying in a 5 star hotel. The breakfast was better than most top business hotels I have stayed in across Europe. The attention to detail in the bedrooms and the dining room was fantastic. George the owner is a lovely guy and the service is second to none.
