  I highly recommend Caravel Guest House. It’s located in the centre of the New Town close to the railway station and the shopping area. The rooms are cozy and the toilets are very clean. For the price you pbly won't find a more original B&B. It is nicely situated, though closer to New Town so that you have to walk a bit to get to Old Town. The breakfast is nice if you take the cooked breakfast. We'll stay there again if we go back to Edinburgh.

The single room I rented was comfortably warm with it's own private entrance, separate from the main Guest House. - Warm and comfortable, enormous room, lovely vegetarian breakfast withwide selection of food and friendly staff. I would definitely recommendthis and stay there again. Very close to the city centre as well; wewalked there in 15 minutes (strolling). Excellent value for a guesthouseso close to the centre of Edinburgh. Also a lovely Italian restaurantdown the road!

  We booked a double and got a very spacious and comfortable room downstairs with 2 beds (queen & a twin). Check-in was quick. Heaters worked great for the chilly Dec weather. The shower always had hot water. Breakfast buffet consisted of cereal, toast, jam, yogurt, cheeses, pastries, fruit, juice, coffee, and tea was perfect to start the day. Lots of places to eat nearby. - The B&B has really nice, with high ceilings and mouldings. Owner was very friendly and a nice welcoming host. Bed was comfortable, rooms were warm. Free Wi-Fi good for checking out local restaurants etc. Is about a mile walk from train station, with a nice bar restaurant called "Reverie" near-by on the way in to town. Breakfast was good, with coffee or tea to suit. We would stay again.
