We've stayed at Hotel Indigo in Glasgow which is fabulous and the Edinburgh one did not disappoint either. I believe it's only around 1 year old and this is evident in the decor of the hotel and the cleanliness - the rooms were immaculate! Location is perfect. They are installing tram lines in the street but it still has access if you are arriving by car or taxi. Its a short walk to Waverly Station and all main tourist attractions can be reached by foot if you like to walk.
Room was excellent, breakfast was great. Did not try the restaurant at night but menu looked good and fairly priced.
Staff were all very friendly and attentive.

Definitely best choice for Edinburgh. Have stayed at Balmoral 3 times already, and every time was an exceptionally pleasant experience. Love the superb location, warm and welcoming atmosphere, excellently polite and helpful staff, relaxing SPA area. Strongly recommend Number one restaurant for a delicious haute cuisine dinner.. -

Choosing accommodation in a city that you are unfamiliar with is always hard. We chose well as this hotel is brilliantly located in the "old " city right off the Royal Mile. Wow- fantastic hotel. We got it for a really good price through
letsbookhotel.com and our stay was perfect. The staff were brilliant and so
attentive allowing us to check in early and assigning us to a fab room.
The room was spacious bright and colourful with lots of lovely added
extras including free movies,mini bar drinks, robes and slippers. We
also had a massage each in the spa centre which was fantastic. The
location is more than you could ask for- everything on the doorstep!!

This hotel is like my view of an old hotel should be steeped in history and splendour. the hotel is basic but new....we had the disable room, and the bed was fantastic!l chose this hotel because of no frills but new and fresh.....great for visiting the city on foot, and lots of pub/ restaurant open till late, when we came back at evenings after Sightseeing....the breakfast was good for £8.50, with lots of choices.
