We stayed for one night with our three children (aged 9, 7 and 5). The location is wonderful with views over Derwent Water. We had not stayed in a Youth Hostel before but it really suited us and we would definately consider going back. The children enjoyed the pool table and table tennis table. This is a fantastic place to stay in a perfect location. We travelled to Keswick by train and bus then walked to the hostel.
Staff were very pleasant and helpful
Food was good value, very tasty and plentiful.
Liked having a proper sheet, pillow case and clean duvet cover.
Self catering provision was excellent.
Great facilities for children (table tennis, pool, games).
Loved my stay.

The food was excellent. The owners were very welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Overall we had a great stay met some lovely people and would definitely recommend it to friends. We will be returning in the future for a second visit. Glyn & Kay -

Everything about the hotel was excellent. The staff were very welcoming and helpful, meals were first-rate and our room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable indeed. A lovely farmhouse, very good natured staff and excellent service. Our room was very comfortable, the facilities were great. The heated towel rail was particularly appreciated after we got drenched in a long walk by the lake! The swinside farmhouse is well presented immaculate and very clean and tidy.
Joanne the co owner goes that extra mile to make your stay as good as can be.
The breakfast is second to none.
Great venue if you like quiet lovely surroundings .
Also if you like a drink there is a pub just across the road that does'nt affect your nights sleep as it is a quiet very small village pub.

presetned with modern decor throught, a modern en suite
shower/bathroom, comfortable bed, ample wardrobe/drawer space

Location excellent..in a quiet valley about 5 km from Keswick, a
tourist center. No other buildings around except for the Inn. I could
hike into spectacularly rough mountains in 5 minutes by foot from the
inn. Nice log fire, lovely and warm in the rooms. Each room is slightly
different. The one known as Causey Pike has massive windows towards the
mountains. Food was fine, and breakfasts were hearty with everything
one could think of.

Everything! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, both at the hotel and the Lake District itself. The location was lovely, the staff and food were excellent and our room was better than we imagined. We didnt want to go home! Well worth the money we`d paid. We`ve already said we`ll definately go back there either later this year or next year. - I thought

When we got to Lakeside House we were personally shown to our room - No 1. The room was very roomy, comfortable and nicely decorated. The bed was huge! The location was brilliant - just a short walk to the centre of Keswick. Breakfast was excellent - particularly the Eggs Benedict. All the staff were friendly and gave us good advice on places

Everything! Warm and friendly, welcoming, respectful, happy and competent staff, wonderful breakfasts beautifully prepared/cooked, decor restful with warm tones modern but not clinical. And the view from our bedroom window was truly spectacular. We will return without hesitation or doubt!

Dawn and Paul extended a very warm welcome, the food was excellent, the accommodation was very good and based close to the town centre and the lake. Both proprietors were well informed about the area and could offer advice about places to visit and appropriate walks for individuals or families depending on ability.

The owners Dawn & Paul were very welcoming, but not overbearing. The room was clean and well equipped, and thoughtful details had been added. Also, they were not stingy on the tea and coffee facilities in the room. They gave us some good advice about the local area and hill climb we were planning to do... and the breakfast we had there was lovely!
