  The Hostel was located near Nunnery Lane Car Park which was great because I could leave my car overnight between 6pm to 8am the next morning for just £2.This was important because I was leaving early next am to drive to Castle Howard to work. Located within the City Walls and near to the railway station and within walking distance of sites, pubs a... ce que les gens disent » nd restaurants. Excellent value at £16 per night which included breakfast although I left before 7am so could not partake. I would definitely stay h - everything,from the warm welcome,taking care of our bags,being close to town,lovely room,nice and clean, comfy beds,brilliant breakfast,and secure place to keep our luggage so we could squeeze every last minute out of our holiday,and only five minute walk from railway station, and only a few feet away from the entrance to the medieval walls....altogether a brilliant place, a added bonus we loved was all the fun plaques outside each bedroom,it brought history alive.

  Warm reception upon arrival and very welcoming hostess. Upgraded room without asking. Room four very comfortable and peaceful , as a result beware of oversleeeping. Heating temperature just right. Ideally located for a short and refreshing river walk into the town centre. Breakfast simple but tasty and again a walm welcome in the morning. We were three adults so the triple room was really good for us, it was clean, comfortable and quiet (we at a room at the back). Landlady was welcoming, helpful and informative and let me leave my car there till we left on the evening after we had checked out, Breakfast was good too. Good value for money.

The garden is beautiful, with ruins and lovely flowers, and big enough for guests (and their guests) to sit in the sun without being on top of each other. Nice that there is a bar, and a big car park just at the back..

The complementary chocolate, biscuits and hot chocolate sachets on arrival very much appreciated, as well as the quality toiletries. - Very warm welcome. Regular buses every 10 minutes, great for using Bus Passes, could easily have gone to Whitby, Scaborough, Bridlington or Leeds. The full English Breakfast set us up for the day.

Didn't really know what to expect after reading some of the reviews but I found it very comfortable. Just check in and then you can come and go, there's no reception or leaving your keys. Comfortable room and bed, generous supply of tea, coffee, etc, and an excellent breakfast. Would definitely stay there again.

The hotel needs some TLC but is comfortable and the rooms were adequate for the price.
